“I think you stole two guys, really,” Kirwan said in a recent interview with The Finsiders. “I’ve been to a lot of Falcons practices. Tyson Clabo, besides being a really good player, is a roughneck. He gets after it in practice. Every time I’ve been there, Tyson was having it out with somebody in 9-on-7. The defensive guys better be ready for this guy because he’s not coming to play around. When it’s padded practice, Tyson Clabo is coming to mix it up, so love that part of him.”
Signing Grimes, a 2010 Pro Bowler, could give the Dolphins secondary a different dynamic if he’s able to work back from an Achilles injury suffered Week 1 last season. The seven-year cornerback, physically, is the polar opposite of Sean Smith, the man he essentially replaces, measuring in at 5-foot-10. What he lacks in size, though, Grimes makes up in jumping ability and ball skills.
“When I first saw him line up, and it was against Roddy White in practice, I go, ‘Oh man, this looks like a physical mismatch,’” Kirwan said. “But Grimes, explosive leaper, can go up with a guy, and get in the air and rebound a ball off of big receivers, so like him quite a bit. The jury’s out a little bit on how much of that is there right now. I’m sure most of it is.”
I agree. I think they were very good signings. You have to hope the injury isn't a problem, but if not, I agree. I think there is a good chance that they turn out to be steals.

padre31luxury_boxA Cb who actually converts chances into int's will be a delightful change from the old "..ball hits hands..ball bounces off of hands..Smith stares at hands.." bit we've seen for years.
His highlight was the int vs the Saints in the 09 preseason, otherwise "Edward Scissor Hands" described his ball skills. And I like his game just had seen enough of it.
