http://boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/topic/616167-phillip-huntde-supposedly-looking-good-early/ Phil hunt is looking good early in Eagles Camp, but they are so deep at DE now that I suspect his best bet is to look elsewhere to stick
BC lands Arland Bruce for a 3rd rd pick, much needed Wr depth, and Tad Kornegay heading into a huge matchup with the Riders. Sask at 1-4 and the Argos at 1-4, have to win this one. BC cut Stevie Black as well which semi shocked me, he had talent.
Phil hunt is beating everyone they are putting in front of him so far, the Eagles will have tough choices to make as they are simply decimated at DT atm, that may squeeze him out.
Thought that was cool, Tony Washington has made it into the starting lineup, he has gotten his shot at playing.
In the CFL if a kicker puts a ball into the EZ it is worth 1 pt a "rouge", a returner can try and take the ball out of the EZ and deny the "rouge".
My good Lord I must enjoy the pain of being a fan of BC and the Dolphins, as if Miami was not bad enough, BC is speeding towards our second straight 1-7 start to the yr, we were pantsed last night by Wpg. Wally B should drum Jacque Chapdelene out of Vancover on a rail, Mike Benevides should take up floral design or something..sheesh
hey padre, you want some interesting side reading? check out what the Riders fans are saying, you're in a playoff battle with them lol http://www.riderfans.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?4-Main-Discussion
Well, we face the Esks and their Wr corps is decimated, I have some hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the whole though, it is not a good thing for the league if both the Argos and Riders are having down yrs, what is odder, the Argos you can see, they won games with smoke and mirrors in 10, the Riders I did not see coming.
Argos are to inconsistent from game to game, and once the big plays dried up it hurts them. My Leos are a mess Thing with them is, Lulay can play, but Chap and the O just has long droughts were they can do nothing at all. Listening in on the radio call and Wpg was literally calling out what play it was going to be...before the ball was even snapped.
Their Defence was doing that, and Lulay wouldn't or couldn't audible out of the plays. This is one reason why I think BC needs a house cleaning.
Is what it is, if they score a TD on this drive though, they are right back in the game. Hate seeing the Argos as run down as they are atm, that really should be a flagship franchise.
And we head into the turn at Labour Day with the usual suspects in First Place, will be fascinating to see if Ken Miller can do any better then the Riders version of Wannstadt, at least they had the good sense to pull the plug quickly on that experiment. BC has a home and home with the Argos, then the Stamps, then the Riders, now would be a good time for them to step on the gas.
Riders pulled the upset of the Blue Bombers in a rout, 30-7 or so, the return of Coach Ken Miller seemed to put the green on the same page, with Andy Fantuz coming back this is a team to watch Labour Day classics are today, Als v TiCats and Stamps v Esks, the season really begins this weekend with the: Wpg #1 in the East Calgary #1 in the West Some really good CFL focused articles: Record TV viewership: http://www.thestarphoenix.com/sports/attracting+record+numbers+viewers/5351137/story.html Future looks Bright for the CFL: http://sports.nationalpost.com/2011/09/04/fan-support-solid-revenues-mean-bright-future-for-cfl/ What is the next challenge, to me, is to improve the Argos franchise as the Bills see the afluent S Ontario as their backyard, the Argos have to improve to stop erosion of market share and to swipe some back from the Bills and the NFL.
And BC closes out TEmpire with a win, glad we are leaving that house of horrors, that was a home field disadvantage to say the least. 2 games back of the Eskimos, we now move into our Western Conference schedule, and it is tough.
Leos beat the Stamps, at home, to go to 5-6, setting up a huge game vs the resurgent Rough Riders. And what the heck is going on with the TiCats? They have boatloads of physical talent yet are wildly inconsistent from week to week.
Loads of talent on that team, they remind me of a NFL team tbh, and yet each week they are just wildly inconsistent. Chris Williams looks like he found a home for the next couple of yrs in the CFL at least, he should win CFL ROY imo. Al's are surprising me though, thought they would just be dominant and instead...not so much.
http://www.vancouversun.com/Video+P...construction/5444252/story.html#ixzz1Yo3GzkL2 Video at link they are going to have the 2nd largest jumbotron in North America as well, sheesh that place looks..really modern? Best stadium in the CFL imo
My goodness did Anthony Calvillo get laid out on that one...
True before the remodel it looked like a Arena League facility, now, just wow, reminds me of the new Cowboys stadium. It looks very "west coast" though, lots of style and pizzaz, if the Riders get a new facility, it should be totally different as the culture there is very different
BC wins 33-24, setting up a battle for first place between the Lions and Stamps this weekend. Al's won as well, really pulled it out as Wpg would not go down easily. Riders and Argos are on the brink of elimination, pity really about the Argos as they had so much momentum coming into the season and just petered out.
Great tribute by Chris Berman to AC, Anthony Calvillo, who is poised to become pro football's all time leader in passing yardage. Al's are odds on favourites to win the Grey Cup as well. BC has the Stamps tonight, for first place.
Anthony Calvillo the self described "skinny Mexican from la puente" passed Brett Favre and Damin Allen (younger brother of Marcus Allen) to become pro football's all time leader in passing yardage on Canadian Thanksgiving. He was congratulated by Warren Moon and Dan Marino for the accomplishment. In other news BC signed: Jock Sanders will excel in the CFL game if his heart is into it, and I'd love to see Pat White give it a go as well.
BC won their 8th in a row, Al's secured a home playoff game, now it really comes down a BC v Eskimos matchup to see who wins the Western Division.
Annd..the Ticats drug us around the field, sheesh that was ugly! Jock Sanders played, Wally B really likes his game
Heck of a finish setting for the final weekend with both Divisional Title slots up for grabs. In the East, the Al's are competing with the Blue Bombers for the #1 slot and the bye week In the West, BC, Edmonton, and Calgary, are tied for fist place. Riders play Edmonton at 9 pm Friday Winnipeg plays Calgary at 3 pm Saturday Montreal plays BC at 9 pm Saturday BC win means a first rd bye and then a home game to go to the Grey Cup in their own stadium.
40-1..BC over the Allouettes in a first of it's kind game where both Divisional titles were on the line! WPG wins the East (good for them, they had been bad recently) and BC wins the West, and a two week bye, with the Grey Cup in BC's new stadium this yr. For those who wonder, or bother to read this thread, I'll post up a thread about guys who stand an excellent chance of going from the CFL to the NFL and having an impact. Recently the league has sort of changed a bit, I suspect it is the "Cam Wake" effect, more physically talented DT's and DE's have moved up north to ply their trade and there are two Lb's who are locks to be on a NFL roster after the NFL season ends, by agreement NFL teams cannot sign CFL FA's until after the NFL season ends.
Well, you just never know which TiCats team will show up, for example they added fmr Phins Rob Rose, and he can play, but does Glenn start? If so, or if not? TiCats have the most physical talent in the CFL imo.
