Ok dont hang me, he is not the answer, but bill drafted him, he is a vet, he will be available, he would give him time to develop the franchise QB

no thanks i actually would rather have fiedler at qb than Pennington
-
fielder may be better at the long ball, it is just bill likes to start with a vet while he grooms a guy
-
I posted the possibility of Pennington in Miami earlier. I could also see Bill bringing him in. Not that I want that, but I could see it happening..
-
We would be scraping the bottom of the barrel if we were considering Pennington....I would just as soon keep Lemon in there until Beck is ready.....or better yet, draft Brennan in the 2nd round if he is available, and see whether he or Beck is our future QB.
-
I'm not a Pennington fan at all. He has absolutely no arm strength, no zip on his passes to the outside. In our offense he'd be a turnover machine.

Funny, for a bum with no arm, Miami has certainly made him look like a HoF'er over his career.
Noodle arm or not, Pennington is better than any of the 100 QB's Miami has had since Dan retired.Jets81 likes this. -
well, who IS it gunna be if not Chad... Drew Deadslow.. Vinnie Interceptaverde... ??? tuna is gunna force one of them on us... pick yer poison... Chad is a SMART qb who if we could get the rank jet smell offa him would fit in just fine.

Morning bro! -
 -

As the late Hank Stram would say, he is very good at matriculating the ball down the field, very similar to Hank's old QB, Len Dawson. -
Is Trent Greene officially done? I have not heard if that is the case. What’s wrong with using him as we groom the next starter, be it Beck or whoever? He is still on the roster I assume he will be same old fragile self but fine for the start of next season, no?

I hate jp losman but i would rather have him than pennington.
-
-
i even hate the idea of penndington because of his arm, but he does have other good things and i just wanted to see what everybody was thinking
-
Green eggs scrambled and Ham?
We could do worse then Pennington, right now 2008 is "John Beck and Whomever" for us, Veteran would help more then hurt, as long as his arm is healthy enough to hand the ball off he should do alright for us... -
..but for rank jet smell I'm thinking nothing less than Tabasco will achieve the deep cleansing necessary for this evolution... by the gallon
For example.. I give you the measures the denver has to take to protect themselves from KC... and wormy Herm... you remember HIM dontcha..
here is a typical donko fan on game day
I think Chad can still be effective, especially as a backup. What we REALLY need, is a team that actually fuctions around John Beck. -
We need to get our D straightened out before we do anything. But for QB, Pennington is not the answer imho.

Pennington has Great Accuracy i personaly think he has the best accuracy but he cant throw a deep ball
-
-
Aside of that, the deep ball is overrated. Pennington can actually throw it believe it or not. It's the throws to the sideline that you have to worry about. I want a better QB starting for the Jets but I'd hate to see CP twice a year, especially in teal.finswin56 likes this. -
Jets: Pennington not on trading block
The News
Chad Pennington is not on the trading block, according to the Daily News. "Chad is under contract. I'm happy he is here. Eric (Mangini) is happy he is here and the best player will play. Chad is going to be here this year," said general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Our View
Pennington could easily be the starter coming out of training camp. But he and Clemens could have company this summer. The Jets held a private workout in Boston on March 21 for Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan, which was attended by Mangini, Tannenbaum and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. They are the three key QB decision-makers and they all would not have been there if the Jets did not have serious interest in Ryan.
