Nobody played 100% out there today IMO. We should be calling out alot more players than these two, but they seem to be fan favorites to bash lately. This team was not ready to play today, nor did they care to play today at all. I wouldnt put too much into it. I bet theyre both back next year.

Did you see Davis miss a bunch of tackles??? After the first few games he has not been good at all.

 

The players were making it clear they wanted Sparano out. So I wasn't really paying attention to any of it.

 

I miss Jason Allen, at least he could catch.

 

I have spent 3 yrs watching Crowder being torched in pass coverage, yr #4 is not of interest, add in a 3.5 millie salary and adios CC...thank you for your time

Neither Smith nor Crowder should be playing in the NFL. They cannot tackle and even the Patriot backup players were running over and through them. Did you see the Patriot players laughing all day on the sidelines? They knew they were playing a very SOFT team that gave up a couple weeks ago. I hope Smith and Crowder will be cut in the off season.

Channing Crowder is gone. I've been telling everyone how much he sucks since I got here. All I heard was how much better he would be next to Dansby.

as if Channing Crowder has been covering the TE all these years. It is entirely possible that he has gotten a 1 on 1 TE assignment...maybe 5 times TOTAL int he last 3 years. The 3-4 defense is not designed to have the scrape backer EVER cover anybody, but the occasional fullback or tailback on a 6 man release.

 

Are you kidding me? Did you feel this way about the Ted Ginn threads that FLOODED this site like no other player in Dolphins history? What about the Jason Allen threads?

I think Smith has had a fine year clouded by dropped INT's even so people are not judging Crowder on just one year, he has been CONSISTANTLY average his entire career here.

 

Dobbins is not better anything.

Crowder's eventual replacement is Misi. Get a another pass rusher to play opposite of Wake.

THAT is the way to go. Misi's future is next to Dansby.

Im actually in favor of this. Having LB's with blitzing ability on the inside creates a ton of options for Nolan....problem is its not very easy to find good OLB's as opposed to a good ILB.

But if we get a suitable replacement count me in.

 

Yep..what folks must realize is the Defense is a work in progress, it needs upgrades and more foundational work, that is why Nolan needs a tip o' the cap for his work here with such a group of youngsters and limited Vets.

If there is a Ray Willis at #15 do not hesitate to pull the trigger, if there is a premier pass rusher at #15, pull the trigger, if there is a premiere Safety at #15 pull the trigger.

you need to buy a coaches manual and look up the part of 5-2 responsibility and the chapter on "pass defense in a 3-4 defense."

he is the scape goat around here, that is obvious...but we now have a top 5 unit and the worst offense in team HISTORY...but yeah...it's all the scrape backer's (the 6th most important position in a 3-4 defense) fault...

No..I am saying that if you made a list of everything that is wrong with this team...Crowder will be waaaaaaay down on that list, yet "fans" harp on him as if he is responsible for this crap.

 

Crowder had a ****ty game, but a ****ty game based on his own merits. He can't cover athletic tight ends very well, and he's too slow to make tackles far outside of the hashmarks. If it's a lack of effort, it's been something somehow tolerated by multiple coaches.

Sean Smith flat ****ing gave up, and while he's been very good as of late, it's clear he's a bit of a problem child.
