    Scouting the Dolphins

Linebacker Akin Ayodele was the only Dolphin listed on last week's injury report and he played. Coach Joe Sparano did not discuss any new injuries Tuesday, according to a team transcript of his Q&A with reporters.

I'm really forward to this weekend. I'm over with what happened last night and it's time to move on. I've already got my board set up, (I have a board with all the games and what channels they are on). With 5 tv's, I need to be able to move games around.

I'm over the Monday night game now and want to start talking Chargers. The trip out to the west coast will make things tougher then it normally would.

Expect to see great success in the run game again.

At least its easier to go west than east. This is another winnable game, especially with both lines hurting and LT out.

But for the love of god we have GOT to keep Gates under wraps. We gotten murdered by TEs in the first 2 games, and now comes all pro #3.

i probably should be excited but I'm not. If we win we're back in the hunt but if we lose we're pretty much out. I just dont have a good vibe about the game. I dont think we'll have an answer for Darren Sproles

Interestingly, the Chargers return game is ranked #1 in the NFL, Sproiles is killing teams on kick off returns (the Jets are #2 BTW).

I've got a better vibe for this game than I did for the Colts game, to me the Bolts weakness on Defense matches up with our strength on offense.

The question for us then becomes how does our weaknesses on defense match up with their strengths on offense?

To me, it would depend, do we keep Wilson at Safety? A better cover safety would cure alot of woes.

ravens defense is alooottttt better than ours. their biggest strength is our biggest weakness (mlb and safety)

and they gave up 26 points and 436 yards passing to rivers with 2 tds.

this game scares the piss out of me. our defense better lock up

for us to win this game I think we are going to have to create turnovers. I think we need at least a +2 in the turnover department to have a shot. Sean Smith on Vincent Jackson may give us an opportunity or two. Do we activate Wake to have him in on some 3rd down plays? I dont see how we stop Darren Sproles right now so hopefully we can contain him. Antonio Gates will have his catches but probably will be more similar to Gonzalez rather than Clark. On offense we will have a rough day relying solely on the run game which means we will have to put it on Pennington's shoulders. Special teams are probably worth at least a touchdown for the chargers. i see us having a really tough time there. So in the end we have to get turnovers

Turnovers would be great but we need to keep a handle on our turnovers as the strength of the Chargers Defense is their Corners.

But the center of the their D has been hollowed out with the loss of Jamal Williams and an injury to his replacement, add in Travis Johnson (ex Texan) has a bad groin and poor safeties and we have a run the ball cake waiting to be baked.

Bolts special teams are top notch, their offense runs hot and cold, let's not forget that the Raiders gave the Chargers all they could handle.

yea, we hung only 23 points on the colts with 40 minutes of ball control. our offense cant score td's. and oddly enough its been like this for years apon years. we always settle for fg's. we wont have the ball that long sunday. im scared about this game....not a good feeling at all imo

who's going to cover sproles out of the backfield? god that could get ugly fast. gates will get his 100 yds and the special teams will probably have a +50 yds advantage on us. not saying we cant win but we really need an attacking blitzing philosophy that causes turnovers in this game. turnovers can be the great equalizer. we dont match up well here. hopefully this is the game where sean smith is introduced to the nation as a playmaker

Don't forget Olshansky is now here in Dallas and the fact we ran pretty good against them last year

I easily see back to back 100 yarders for Ronnie, and quite possibly 300-325 in 2 games.

That being said, we have no chance in a shootout.

This isn't as scary a matchup as some are making it out to be imo.

Chargers are beat up on both lines and have a weak defense. If Miami can get a good pass rush this week it will solve the problems most are worried about in the passing game. Another thing I don't think you can overlook is the fact SD as a team got the crap beat out of them physically by the Ravens and are undoubtedly still sore. Phillip Rivers may have gotten the worst of it.

I feel good about it, put it this way, are the Raiders with Russel at Qb that good of a team?

    Yet they handled the Bolts.

raiders are probably the same as us this year. great run game, poor pass game but better all around defense. its actually a great example to watch of the game manager QB vs the rocket arm QB debate. I mean at this stage Jamarcus has nothing but a rocket arm and pulled out a victory with it. lets see if our game manager QB can match him

Seymour and Ellis both had big games against the banged up Bolts Oline, if JT and JP have anything in the tank this is the game it should come out.

    Our offense will be fine

Our defense on the other hand has been exposed for what it is, and exactly what everyone else has posted (we can't cover tight ends, and we have lapses in tackling on screens). To sum up this is what our defense will likely look like (triple "L" consonance...suck it!):

Thats what worries me, their due and their coming off a loss, and their at home...its not the best variables for our team to get a must win..

Imo the reason why we match up with the chargers so well the past couple of years is because of imo, Phillip rivers {believe it or not}, his average arm gives us a chance to close the gap on receivers, a gap that were usually a fraction behind in.

Bro Rivers will eat us up if we don't get constant pressure on him, and our secondary doesn't have good coverage. They are pass first run second team now. This isn't LT's team anymore it is Phillip Rivers team.

Which actually does us a bit of a favor FFiC, our Db's Allen, Smith and Davis and Jones are playing better than our Lb Corps, and our Dline of Langford, Merling, Starks and Fergie/Soliai and JT should be better than the Bolts patchworked Oline.

That is a part of the reason why I feel good about this game.

And coming into the season it was special teams, then all last week it was the oline, now it is the defense, have some confidence bro, so far the staff has adjusted and improved the units when problems have arisen.

Now in game adjustments, that is another ball of wax, but preperation wise they have gotten it done.

Sproles offers a real challenge on special teams and he and Gates offer challenges as receivers, that is what makes the NFL great though.

BTW...two games, two near picks by Sean Smith, I think he gets one this week.

I want to see Clemons hit the field, and get Wake in the game. Perhaps give him some time at middle linebacker. He can't do any worse that what we have done. Tony needs to get control of this team like he did last year bro. There were way too many bone headed moments in the Colts game.

Get both Culver and Clemons in there. Bell hasn't looked good either. His whiff on Gonzalez cost us a TD against Atlanta, and while he hasn't missed as many tackles as Wilson, he can't cover anyone and has hands of stone.
