Deadline deal for Raiders running back falls through

Raiders running back Michael Bush was almost a Charger before the Raiders backed out just before the 1 p.m. deadline, sources said.
According to a Bay Area source, the sides were close on terms, believed to be a second-day pick, before the Raiders pulled the deal.

Hmm, are they not sold on LT being a primetime player now?

Either way, getting bush for a day 2 pick would have been a steal.

LT has never recovered from the toe injury. Also Sproles is a free agent at the end of the year, and will be testing free agency.

I read this today as well. The Raiders are boneheaded if they were going to move him for a second day pick. I think I read a fifth rounder somewhere. They should be asking for a second rounder for Bush, third is the lowest they should let him go imo.

Theyre gonna take a chance on letting Sproles walk? Im sure he will cost a fair bit to keep, but with LT seeming to be pretty much on the backside of his career now, youd think they would try and sign Sproles before he gets to FA. Either that or maybe they will go grab someone in the draft. Especially after the success of second and below rounders this year like Forte, Johnson and Slaton, we might see more teams go that route instead of paying for a FA.
Still would be a risky move though.

Yes it is. Maybe they are taking a chance that Hester will be ready to step up as well. Sproles will get some good money in FA.
