He's supposed to be a cap casualty. Hopefully we can coerce both him and Mr Jennings to take their talents to South Beach.

There are going to be a lot of cap casualty players hitting the streets in the next few weeks, a lot. More then we have ever seen and some of them are very good players.
Ireland is sitting in his boat, nursing a beer and just waiting for a real good one to hit on part of his 40 mil plus bait. ( At least thats what I would be doing ) -
Haven't watched him closely this season. Does the dude still have the physical ability to compete? He must be pretty old by now (lol. he's probably younger than me, so it's weird to say that.)

He was the worse of 6 Green Bay CB's. Rated negatively. Hasn't been a positive PFF player in 2 years.

Too old for Miami I think.

I thought he was playing safety too. I remember at end of season, listening to NFL radio, think it was Kirwan mentioning Woodson's value, much of it was at the LOS, blitzing, causing turnovers. Not really interested in picking him up. spend our FA money elsewhere.

kick the tires. Why not?
-
If he's quality depth, and he's willing to sign as such, why not?
-
Pass. Woodson isn't the same player he used to be. And it really doesn't make sense to spend the cap space to get a 1 year rental.
-
Bring in woodson and sharper.

He may not be what he once was, but he's still a playmaker, which is exactly what the Dolphins defense is missing. I would definitely take a look if I were Jeff Ireland.

We act as if we could just grab this guy as a reserve?
Woodson will have no interest in Miami. He'll go to a team that has a shot at a title this year. He's not going to ride the pine or go to a place to nurture young DBs on a developing team.
He will likely go to a place like New England (unless Ed Reed comes available - BB has a man crush on him). But, Clayton noted that Seattle may also have interest or Baltimore if they release Reed. I'd also think the 49ers might be a landing spot (given how their DBs played in the SB). -

I don't see why he would be interested in coming here unless we offered him a ton of money and he's not worth it anymore. I don't see this having any chance of happening. We could use veterans in some spots on the team but he just doesn't fit what we are trying to here IMO. We shouldn't be just signing names to fill cap space, hopefully we stay away from guys that are years past their prime.

Still probably better than anyone we've had in recent years...
With his age, he'd probably go to a team that actually makes the playoffs consistently though, unless another overpays. -
Too old, there will be better, younger options available during free agency.
