Did y'all know that our hero Charlie had the 2nd best season a dolphin has ever had..2nd in catch, yards, and tds. Just getting to know how this dude has evolved as a player and his craft is just everything you would want, his hunger to never settle for where he's at is just awesome..I love Charlie. Charlie Dolphin.. The perfect player in a sense..a sixth round pick, multi dimensional, great work ethic, ascends to pro bowl status. And I questioned him his first two years, shame on me. Will be 25 years old for the whole 2014 season. Sign Charlie longterm please, he has earned our trust.

to bad he didn't have 7 more catches, 35 more yards and one more TD, he would of had the best season ever by a tight end.. I'd bet money he breaks it this year..
BOT.. Seriously, isn't it fun when you can see the ascension so clear from one year to the next, dudes concentration level was phenominal last year, I can't remember a drop, the play he made against the pats on fourth down was exceptional.. I wonder where Charlie's ceiling is..wonder how much he can get better?
I really want to check online one day and see that Clay got an extension. He just had a great season (considering he was once a 6th rounder) and instead of sitting back relaxing all offseason, he's working to get better. The 4th down against the Patriots, breaking loose from Polamalu for the TD, and the TD against the Chargers were possibly our three best individual offensive plays all season.....all from a player that a lot of guys were expecting to get cut before the season. I believe he and R. Matthews will both have big years.
I agree on Clay. Love his attitude. However, and I seem to be in the severe minority, but what is it that everyone loves about Rishard Matthews? What am I missing or not seeing that everyone else is?
I know you didn't ask me but I think he is a very natural catcher of the football, really skilled pass catcher, he's big and really really strong and I don't think he's close to his potential. So in a nutshell, I think it's about what he could be, based on what he flashes from a physical and talent standpoint.
For me, he has a really good mix of strength and a smoothness in his catching ability. He catches well with his hands and can transition into forward movement so easily. He will continue to win slant routes and get first down after first down this year. His ability to work the sidelines is underrated as well. Just my opinion of course.
Me too, and while we're at it, also Odrick. Both have shown they deserve to be retained and be part of building a championship quality roster.
Was not me this time Downside is, as per usual for us, it took him yrs to really develop..next up FA yr
Agreed. Matthews could do some damage if we put him in the right sets. Just needs to grow into his own dong.
Besides some of the things people have mentioned regarding catching the football... Matthews is also a good YAC WR...
I don't remember thinking he was special when it came to YAC. Clay: 380 YAC in 69 rec = 5.5 YAC/rec Hartline: 316 YAC in 76 rec = 4.2 YAC/rec Wallace: 307 YAC in 100 rec = 3.0 YAC/rec Miller: 195 YAC in 26 rec = 7.5 YAC/rec Matthews: 178 YAC in 41 rec = 4.3 YAC/rec So it looks like he's on par with Hartline, who is not known as a YAC guy. FTR, I'm not bagging on the guy, I hope he tears the league a new ******* and lights up the record books. Interesting side note: Moreno: 488 YAC in 60 rec = 8.1 YAC/rec And for ****s & giggles: Demaryius Thomas had 704 YAC. That is insane.
I'd argue with you, but I have to go, Bob Evans early bird special is only two hours away so I need to leave now to drive the mile there so I can be on time.
