We have heard nothing but negative about Daboll since his hiring. If Pennington wants to give him an endorsement, I suggest he do so publicly. It may put some fans in the stands.

I wouldn't be surprised, but it better damn well be false. As grim as our offense was last season, we better have hired a guy that is capable of installing a credible, threatening and productive offense, not just a guy that a one armed QB enjoyed being around. If Sparano, Ireland and his guys relied only on that when it came to hiring Daboll, we've got some serious problems.

Hopefully this hiring works out though. I mean, it has to or its going to be a long year.

Considering the alternative could have been, he was the only option we had. I'll take a former player's endorsement.

He did, do a search and you can find the interview. He said that Daboll taught him basically how to be what he is now. Taught him about reading defense's and making adjustments.

I truely beleive that Chad had a huge part in this guy getting the OC position. Lets be honest, you dont just pick this guy out of the clear blue. Somebody had to be in the ear of the FO talking him up. Now I'm not saying that he made the choice dont get me wrong, but I'm sure that he let the FO know exactly what he was about and they interviewed them and made their own decision.

I think there are worse things than having Penny making decisions like this for ya...The point is Brandon is I trust the guy's instincts...you?...I mean were talking about a very smart man here with tremendous character..if this were true it would be exciting to me.

Very interesting scenario. I don't believe that they would seek Pennington for advice on a coordinator. I know they trust him and all but I can't see that actualy happening.

there sure are some variables in place that would support this one..

I don't believe it to be farfetched in the least..

The interesting dynamic that Coach and Chad have, the obvious signs that coach wants Chad on his staff, the fact that he believes he's the smartest person he knows..adds up to me...i'd be happy to see this dynamic continue in the future for the betterment of our team.

The betterment of our team? Now, I'm not in the "jump off a bridge because Cleveland has a worse statistical offense last year" group, but you would have a hard time selling this to a lot of people as "the betterment of our team." Personally, I don't like it. Especially if Pennington wants to play next year. Does anyone really want Chad Pennington back on this team next year? And if the relationship between the two is as strong as you say I can't see Sparano letting him go. I get that there is still left over man love from the 08 season, but 11 wins and 6 INTs in the playoffs does not make a franchise saviour.

Because adding an asset to your team in the package of Chad Pennington is beneficial for your infrastructure long term..

I trust the guy to give him continued responsibility, I value his makeup, so I want him to be a part of our franchise, and if I value that, than iam all about some of his decision making....I guess you dont..

For all these mythical legends you hear told of the great Chad Pennington around here, what exactly has he done with the Dolphins, or did he ever do with the Jets? If Chad Pennington is supposed to be the great teacher why does Chad Henne "suck" as much as some people around here would lead you to believe? If Chad Pennington is such a wizard at QB how come in the last meaningful game we saw him play he threw 6 picks to the Ravens? If Chad Pennington is the answer to our woes, how come people are complaining about us not stretching the field and playing underneath in the 15-20 yard range. That IS Pennington's game.

To me, Chad Pennington is more myth than substance. The guy came in at the lowest point in Dolphins history, engineered an 11 win season against the weakest schedule we've ever seen and pissed it away in the playoffs which has pretty much always been the book on the guy. So no, I don't want him part of this franchise next year if it means he's taking up a roster spot that could be spent on progressing this team.

Pennington has decided to make a comeback and return...That conspiracy sure came true..

If he's going to be an asset for our team I think the only way that happens is as a coach. He's said himself on multiple occasions he doesn't want to coach in the NFL. The shoulder can't be trusted to hold up for a whole season. So with what we know of Pennington, the shoulder, no desire to coach in the NFL, inability to win in the playoffs over his career, is that REALLY a valuable asset you want to hold onto?

I think a bridge is being laid to coach, thats what iam sayin...I believe his intangibles is something this franchise needs....and I will let him compete in camp with a smile on my face.

You believe a bridge is being laid to coach. Chad Pennington himself has said he has no interest in coaching in the NFL. I think I'm gonna have to go with Chad Pennington's knowledge of the situation in this case. Anything else is just another dream scenario at this point.
