I gotta admit, I have never been a fan of the other site. Too many pointless discussions repeating the same arguments time and time again (if there even was an argument to begin with). You really had to pick your spots, as my poker guru would say. This site, however ... I had more fruitful and insightful discussions in my two days here than I had there in almost two years. Great job, folks. Maybe I should join the club :)

This exodus reminds me of the time the Dolphins Digest forum back in the day the internet got invented. As Scout.com bought over the site people slowly moved away and started new sites and hence FH become popular. Now I feel there will be another slow exodus out of FH. Thanks for a great site btw.:up:

If that was the old DolphinsDigest Board back in the late 90's, I remember that well. It broke off as soon as it got bought out and became more of a commercial opportunity than a community. That, sadly, was what I felt was beginning to happen recently in what had been a very good community, and which faded as something besides our relationships became the driving force. I can remember when we would all drop our temporary insanity for the 'Phins to support another in a time of extreme trial. I can remember receiving and giving such support to a brother or sister in time of need, and that is what builds community.

In this day when we have so much going on in our world, it is hard to find a group of people with whom we can identify, but that is one of the things we are most driven to find. This group of people has become more important, I would think, than the subject which had drawn each other here, because we have shared thoughts, hope, and dreams not only about the Dolphins, but about ourselves, and have been received with dignity, and with some level of good humor which shows care and concern even in the sometimes outrageous things we "say" to each other..

Yep, back in the late 90's i remember I was still studying at a university. I didn't have the internet at home back then and had to use the university library straight after every game to get the results, news, and rumors from that old DD board. I remember reading your posts back then, Rev. Of course the dolphins had Marino and we ruled. I lurked the boards and appreciated everyones input. But I know what you are saying this is a community that has to be preserved because there is no one more passion than us. I'm glad the community is still being passed on and on. If the boards have to change so be it but the people still stick together. We have history whether we have met each other or not. But we share ideas, stories and common goals. Go Fins!

 

Haven't been visiting FH a lot lately since a lot of FH's old elite left. I do have a question though.... what the hell happened? I would visit daily and then next thing i know there was some "drama" going on. If this can't be answered, it's fine, or if there's another thread where it is explained, let me know. I'm just curious. Hate being out of the loop.
