Didn't see much of Addai but Manning has drove downfield lol. He looks fine to me. The Bears defense is looking pretty damn good after that first drive.
So Manning is still in top form. Alright. Now Addai needs to pick it up a little, he's on one of my fantasy teams.
What a shot by Tillman on Wayne, bad play imo, Wayne should be pissed for being left so exposed lol. Forte looking pretty solid atm, athletic.
Wow. The Bears are the first team since '93 to replace their leading rusher, passer and receiver. Forte looks very good out there. Good pick by the Bears.
Forte is nothing but a workhorse. Great pick by the Bears, but he shouldn't have been necessary for them; they whiffed on Jones and Benson, making Forte a necessity. They need a QB and at least one receiver, though. They should draft two QBs from the 2009 class and let them compete, and do the same with receivers.
That's what happens when you miss training camp and the preseason. They should utilize Addai more, then get play action going to Wayne. (Is Harrison even playing?)
Not sure on Harrison, havent seen him. Slow start for them, but not a shock considering what Manning was going through. Thomas Jones played very well for the Bears before he was traded to the Jets, that was a horrid horrid move, and is one reason they needed to burn a pick on Forte. At least HES looking good so far, better than Benson ever did. Bears OL is helping too, some HUGE holes so far. Sanders finally got a hit, and POW it was nasty.
Does anyone else think the Bears could surprise some people this year or am I just going crazy? I have them at 5 wins. Think they can get 7?
Hmm im not sure, I just dont think they have a season full of talent. They have some fragile players too. Safety btw. It seems to me the bears are just the more prepared and eager team. They are fired up while the Colts are kinda lethargic. Bears are winning both D and O lines atm.
Are we seeing a shift in power? The NFC seems to becoming the more dominant conference. That was a safety BTW
Anyone else notice more horrible Referee calls in this game? The roughing on Manning and the clear as day fumble one of the idiot refs called "down by contact". The fumble was a travesty. The replay booth even ended up admitting it was a fumble but because their refs handled it lazily after the one's horrible interpretation, none of the others bothered to follow the play to see who came up with the fumble. The NFL HAS to do something about these guys. It gets worse and worse every single year.
If they can all stay healthy (a HUGE if imo) it can carry them a little ways. Into contention? Possibly. Into a true contender? Err, im gonna go with no atm, though it could change. I see both the Pack and Vikes with equal or better Ds and much better Os, not to mention teams like Dallas and Philly. NFC seems like it might be deep this year, and dont see the Bears making the cut. If they can keep it up for a few more games I might be convinced though.
Forte is quickly becoming one of my favorite young players. I don't know why, I just really like his talent.
Yeah a few bad calls, but NFL still better than NBA lol. Still, they do need to clip some of these bad ones now before it gets worse.
I concur I think they finish third in their division even if they win 7 games which means no playoffs.
Notice that the calls always seem to benefit the big-name players. I believe the NFL refs are either being told to give iffy calls to the stars or are doing it of their own accord. Never forget the tuck rule. Never. Back to the players, though. Matt Forte is impressive. He's lightning fast and runs with authority, seems very hard to take down. He's hitting the holes TOO fast, though; typical rookie behavior. He's not waiting for the blocks to develop, he's just blasting through at full speed. Once he learns to wait for the blocks to develop, he's going to be a star. Chicago still needs a QB and receivers though.
WTF was that by Hester. Trying to be cute and got caught, dumb move. Either take it out or take the knee.
Bad idea by Hester. I don't know what the hell he was thinking. This isn't the Giants and do you really think it would work a second time?
Its one thing to do it the first time (on a FG no less) and another to do it again, and on a kickoff. Stupid move, he was trying to be cute with it and it cost him and his team. Good thing that punter has a leg.
I'm not watching the game, but I'm not surprised at what I'm seeing on "Gamecenter", especially after today's crazy games... Atl beating Det, SD losing to Carolina (without Steve Smith). And then there was the Cards actually winning a game they were supposed to win.
THERE is the Colts that everyone expected! Lets see if the Bears can adjust. Now its time for the Colts D to show they are for real. If you cant stop the Bears O, you might as well hang it up.
Forte makes nice cuts. He has very quick feet for a guy whose 6'2, 222. 109 yards on 18 carries. 6.0 YPC.
Weird game. Obviously the Colts are not as sharp as they should be tonight (which is further proof for me to hold out hope for the Fins ).
My DTV lost its sattelite connection a half hour ago so I watched a recorded episode of Entourage hoping it would be back on after it was over but nothing. So now I'm sitting here typing waiting as it resets. The one negative about having satelite television.
