    Doesn't work like afaik, once declared for the draft the prospect is "in" the draft.

    If a team had drafted him, they'd own his rights for a year.

    Then again, have never really heard of that before, could be a case of a player's ego

    Meh shouldn't be a big deal, if anything, fine them a 7th round pick next year.

    I'm guessing because we had the number one pick and first choice of any eligible player we wanted.

    Much ado about nothing. All it means is they reached a verbal agreement IF no team drafted him in the final round and a half or whatever was left.
