Dolphin leading tackler with 9
One Int in the redzone..with a 30 yard return..
Not beat over the top...
Part of a unit that is elite in both categories, red zone defense efficiency, and 2nd in the keague in 3rd down opponent conversion rate...4 th in passer rating at 75.4..
Do we have a high average of total pass yards against?, yes, that's because we punk the run, and teams wind up passing more...Sanchez 53 attempts for example..
Hey Clean..dudes done alright this year..
Defense needs a Bad Boyz poster shot..

I get the feeling that Coyle is brilliant more than Jones or Clemons have all of a sudden turned into elite players.
Still when I watch Clemons and Jones, they seem to be a step behind a lot of the time. They're not bad, but they're not top echelon players at their positions in my eyes.PhinsRDbest likes this. -
Game to game gradual improvement could make them pretty good as the season progresses. We can hope.

And he cut his dreads. Anybody have dreads on this team? He really has seemed to improve. So far this staff has been able to get guys to improve much faster than the last.
-
That was actually a pretty nice catch on the int too.
-
It's interesting though if you Coyle is the a big part of why these guys took the next step. If that's the case you could argue that throwing a pick towards Coyle (Xavier Rhodes) could do wonders.

I for one think Clemons has improved greatly this season! His coverage is better and tackling is MUCH improved.
-
Are they top players? I don't think so. In fact, if you look at the objective data WPA and +EPA, both players are around the bottom of the league among starting safeties. Based on this, I still see this as an area that will need to be looked at hard for improvement in the offseason. Both players are young though, and they may improve in the playmaking department. -
Well, have to say since turnover output has doubled compared to this point last yr, Coyle and Jones/Clemons are doing something properly
Still think CClemons is completely upgradeable, rarely have I seen a Safety with such slow reactions. -

Check it out D, turn it up..bout as cool as it gets.
He's the white boy if you didn't know..bad *** white boy. -
If Kevin Coyle has a claim to fame, I think it's coaching up safeties in the mold of Clemons and Jones.
That being said, I don't think you can take that much credit away from them. They're both playing quite well, to the point where it's going to be pretty difficult to justify replacing them without stumbling upon a guy BPA. -
