I agree, there is a double standard for star atheletes. Does anyone think Michael Vick would of been readmitted to the NFL if he wasnt a star? Or how about Whats his face on the Ravens? If you are a star then you get a pass.firedan and unluckyluciano like this. -
According to the standard Miami is setting we wont touch Rainy. After all we gave away Marshall because of his problems.
-
While I believe slapping a girl is bad, no "only" about it, they do have a point on that last one.
-
Wasn't he suspended at Florida for something like this or was that another Florida RB?

Shoulda opted for r-word instead
-
Yeah hes the one that was texting his ex he was going to kill her...
edit: LINK -
but this guy can get his 2nd dui, run from the cops, cause damage.....and he's still on the team

Apparently he had two prior run-ins with the law this season.
And it sounds like he's got a serious gambling problem. Signed himself up for the state's 'banned gamblers' list, and later tried to get into a casino and was arrested.

Sounds like Mr Rainey needs a come to Jesus meeting, that dude is spinning out of control

He was not cut due to this incident however, he was suspened 2 games, then cut for roster purposes. he is currently on active roster.
-
Regardless, hes back on the same team. A team that just cut Rainey for "allegedly" slapping his girlfriend. No trial. No proof. Just accusations. It looks bad.
-
The DT I was referring too was a repeat offender also. What he did is far more dangerous. Ran from police, crashed vehicle, was driving absolutley smashed drunk. I don't understand what you're defending?
-
Dangerous or not, what Ta'amu did was the first issue that he had under the Steelers. He was cut and later brought back. I don't have an issue with it.
Conversely, Rainey had multiple issues during his stint in Pittsburgh and has since been relieved of a roster spot. I don't have an issue with it. -
IE: take a long hard look at how he is living his life.
