Anybody else played it? I'm enjoying it, typical civilization but syfy. Really looking forward to what mods people come up with in the SyFy realm to go along with movie themes or what not.

Yeah, its the same base initial program as Civ V.... wont become more in depth until the $30 expansions start rolling out. But I am excited to see what mods are developed.

The more I play the more I think being up affinity points is extremely OP, especially in the beginning.

The military bonuses are pretty big though.... I get extremely pissed off when I start a map and immediately am surrounded by 3 siege worms haha

I saw that it came out. Big Civ guy from SNES through Civ 4 on my Windows Vista PC. Can't play that one on my Win 7 machine that I have now though, so its been years. Since Civ 5 not only required a large data download but a constant connnection, I can't play it. I can't get brodband where I live. Would really like to if I could, but PC gaming is basically dead to me, sadly.

You can still get physical copies of the games. You shouldn't need to perform a huge download if you buy the disc set.

I did when I bought Civ 5 the day it came out. Required like 4 gigs of data download to operate. That was before I even knew about the constant connection BS. Thankfully, Best Buy let me return it for a store credit. Plus, when I tried to talk to customer service, there was none. And tech support was in Germany.

Some areas could use some patching, especially reestablishing trade routes after 10 turns. That gets tedious when you have 20+ going at the same time. Other than that, I am enjoying it.

Whatever you do dont put your workers on autopilot.... They just rebuild terrascapes over top of themselves the whole time.

Don't know what to tell you. This isn't PC exclusive behavior. The Master Chief Collection will have a 20 GB day one patch, and that's Xbox One exclusive.
