What I don't get is a coach that doesn't understand that it's no good if you play well most of the game (and it's questionable if Clabo even did that) if you **** up royally when it matters. Being a winner in the NFL comes down to playing great when it matters.
I don't care if his entire salary is guaranteed. Cut his ***. Put the lacrosse player at RT. He is young and could get better given some playing time.
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley More Turner: "...That guy played a great football game today. Two plays in the whole game. He's one of the best players in the NFL." OMFG!
If he doesn't then he might be out of a job too, loyalty's all well and good but self-preservation has to kick in sometime.
Christ Almighty, there is delusional "she likes me" then there is over the top, insanity, as we've just seen from OL moron of a coach Turner. It's Sparanolike, with his fixation on Colombo. Simple dictum is this "..when the General explains what he wants, and it does not happen, it falls on the soldier, when the General is not clear in his explanation and the solider fails, it is on the General" -Sun Tzu One or the other is happening, if Turner cannot see Clabo's suckiness, it falls on him, if the situation persists, it falls on Philbin for being detached. Either way, as the old mafiosi would say "...the order came down you were clipped, that means you are clipped..."
Turner is correct in the sense that Clabo had a mostly successful day (for him) - apart from when it mattered most. They should have a back or TE helping Clabo on that last drive when we were trying to put the game away. Getting beat by Willams for the strip sack was inexcusable by Clabo and the coaches. And while the sacks were decreased, Tannehill still a beating in hits and being shoved to the ground. Particularly in the first half.
2 games in a row, dude just sucks donkey **** For myself, am soo tired of clueless Dolphins coaches, Philbin either puts the hammer down to the situation, which Sparano would never do, or he is a dead coach walking. If he does not know what he is seeing then he should be relieved of his duties
He is an idiot. He is our worse coach. Although I blame Sherman more than Turner on the loss to the Bills. Run the ball at the end.
If the coaching staff refuses to believe that someone on our bench is better than Clabo - which isn't completely unreasonable - then they have to focus on getting a back or TE to help Clabo out in the 4th quarter. realistically, while Clabo wasn't playing great the first 3 games, he was playing just good enough vs a probowl DE. I'm starting to wonder whether Clabo is just completely gassed in the 4th quarter due to his age and that's why he chokes in the 4th quarter.
there's coach speak and then there's what Jim Turner did yesterday. It was during Clabo's post game interviews with reporters, the reports are that Turner joined in to defend his guy. That's going to an extreme.
And its the right thing to do. He has an obligation to his players before an obligation to fulfilling the desire of fans to scapegoat someone. Defending his players is a pretty fundamental aspect of being a coach, even when they are undeserving.
His job is to motivate and encourage his players to play their best. Even if Tyson Clabo physically doesn't have it anymore, his job is to make sure he's mentally in the game. Throwing him under the bus doesn't aid in that.
Yep, that is why I checked in, until changes are made I'm notbothering with theDolphins any longer. Philbin's arrogance and Clabo's crappiness are eerily familiar
If we had placed a Shopping cart in place of Tyson Clabo on both Disastrous Mario Williams plays....is there much of a difference? In fact...I think we avoid at least one of them..because Tanny won't have the false sense of security that his RT is out there to protect him and is not actively trying to kill him.
Only Ireland could sign Marc Columbo twice. 3 straight years, 3 different tackles performing at a god-awful level...that is an impressive level of ineptitude right there
His job is to take 5 people and turn them into a competent unit that can protect Tannehill and open running lanes to a reasonable degree. That is not happening - and he and the other coaches need to be aware enough to make a change. Might a change fail? Certainly. But we cannot keep standing pat, it isn't working. This is a glaring weakness right now, and teams will exploit it to the fullest. By not just defending, but actively and vehemently without being prompted, stating that a lineman who is failing in his task is a top NFL player? That is just a mockery. It shows a refusal to try for improvement or to acknowledge that we have an issue. Blinders. Of course, people who think Clabo is adequate will disregard that sentiment, which is their prerogative. You seem to be straddling the line based on other posts where you are not thrilled but also not calling for his head like most. Personally, I think we need a shakeup.
What's Vernon Carey up to these days? If it's not 400+ lbs, then it may not be a bad idea to kick the tires on him. He has been by far our most effective right tackle since the Ron Heller days.
What's the difference between Clabo and Colombo? an A becomes Moo?........................................................................................................
Ireland loves repeating mistakes. Ernest Wilford is to Legadu Naanee as Marc Colombo is to Tyson Clabo.
think he'll be perplexed when he's standing on the other side of the door and his key no longer works?
