I hope not. As I learned through this board, you need kick returners that seek out contact and try to get hit as quickly as possible. That way it proves they are a man. The field position battle comes in a distant 2nd to a pissing contest on special teams.

Why would you want Ted Ginn or a Ted Ginn type returner if you had any interest in winning the field position battle? Ginn constantly is bad in that regard. You want Ginn(or a returner like that) if you are essentially willing to concede the special teams field position battle in order to get one or two touchdowns a year off of broken containment on the outside.

 

I do not know how you arrived at that conclusion, but I disagree. He was not imo an all or nothing return man.
Still, I commend you for attempting to offer a rational point of view, rather than the typical "we don't want Ginn because he sucks!!!"

I seem to recall on other positions you hold PFF in good regard for their rankings. Well, in 2009, they rated Ginn the #6 KR man

 

I worry about his body and being able to handle the hits while holding on to the football..

 

The only fair way to look at that is to toss out his long returns for TD's and see how he did on a typical return.

TG is a 2k all purpose yd player, if he is allowed to return kicks and punts, and if he sees at least modest time at Wr.

As for Gates, imo, go with Nolan Carrol, especially for this game, if you don't know, then the answer is no.
