As a former hog, that guy that doesn't touch the ball, yeah- they make it all happen. They touch every staple of the game.
Ben Volin @BenVolinPBP 53s Heard from one source this morning that #Dolphins agree with @RossTuckerNFL, that a 2nd rounder isn't worth it for Albert. We'll see.
This is it for me, 10mil plus a 2 for a guy whom I've never heard mentioned in the same breath as Long, Thomas or Clady? Pass!
I see absolutely no downside to this happening. The Dolphins will get a top ten NFL LT and only have to give up a second round pick for him. You know what you get with Albert at the NFL level, while you have absolutely no idea what you are getting with a second round college player who has never played a down in the NFL. Based on the second round picks the Dolphins have made since Ireland has been the teams GM, this trade should be a no brainer, as far as I am concerned.
The 2 doesn't bother me and after a great line I read in a post, neither does the money. It's the injury thing. A 2 and many mills for a man that may fold.
Hopefully the Dolphins wouldn't have agreed to his contract demands without getting clearance from their medical staff that his back is not a real problem. A lot of people on here were upset the Dolphins didn't sign Long, but I think the Dolphins were probably concerned that his play would continue to decline because of his injuries in recent years. I can't imagine they would then turn around and sign another LT to a long term contract, if they were overly concerned with his back injury.
I just read that. You beat me to the punch. It makes it a little bit easier to swallow if we do indeed make this deal. I think keeping the 2nd round picks would be crucial to trading back into the first round.
Maybe the chiefs will get desperate as we get closer to the draft and take a 3rd. If it were me I'd pass if they wanted anymore than that.
