I love the emphasis on no tanking. That pisses me off to hear my team is going to keep tanking. As it Feels like we’ve been tanking for 20 or so years. It’s time to compete.

Yup, we're going to be the best 3-13 non-tanking team in the history of the league. Then Grier can say, "We didn't tank, we just really sucked!"

 

If you’re gonna develop the recipe and do the cooking, you might as well have a say on who and what the ingredients are.

 

Yes and no...have your input, but stay in your lane and allow the staff in place, including the GM to do their jobs..

Coaches coach..players play, GMs evaluate and pick talent..work together but ultimately the GM should make the call.

 

I agree, and maybe I should have worded it differently. The one thing I am most excited about is the rapport that Flores and Grier seem to have. Collaboration goes both ways.

I just mean there has to be a line where the GM makes the final call..

It’s collabortaive up until that point, and the coach needs to respect it even if he disagrees with it at times..unless it’s a personality issue.
