As CK eluded too, it does seem like they are in on Fisher at this point as a possible candidate....

Thank you for the fun 11-5 year Sparano. Best of luck to you. You are a good guy who might not have been ready for the HC position.

You know, this actually saddens me. He's a great guy, I wish he could stay on the staff in some capacity. Not good enough as a head coach, but definitely a good guy to have around. Good luck Tony.

Sad sad day ... not because I didn't want Tony gone, or that he doesn't deserve the firing - it's just that the way this whole thing started in '08, when he helped turn this whole thing around, it sure seemed like the best was yet to come, and that he was a good fit here. Since then, it's just been one big disappointment after another. I really thought we did it right this time w/ Tony, but - yet again - we're saddled with another failed regime that we have to get over and move past. Good luck to Tony in the future, a good guy, just not a good head coach.

That's the thing w/ him - he'll probably be a good position coach somewhere else down the line. Can't see him as a coordinator - he'd probably fail the same way he's failed now. But as a position coach, his rah-rah attitude might fit perfectly, and I wish him well.

If Carmichael leaves NO, then I would guess Sparano is Peyton's first choice as OC.

We should hire him again....to FIRE HIS *** a second time.

In fact..If I were Ross, I would call him every morning for the next 10 years at 5 AM to FIRE him over and over again.

Thank you for wasting our time Tony, you incompetent boob.

Really I think it's a shame, but at this point it had to be done. I like a him a heck of alot more than any other coach we've had since Shula. And that includes wishy-washy Jimmy Johnson.

    Good Luck, Tony.

    Who cares?

Might as well lose out. Play Gates, bench Hartline. Play Devlin.

i want to see what some of the guys can do and i dont want anyone getting hurt because players next to them are dogging it. the last thing a QB or RB needs is a less motivated OL that completely stunk.

    From the article:
Make you wonder though, will he have the same authority he had since Parcells has been gone? I mean, it's been pretty well documented that Parcells had a lot of input on personnel decisions. Will Peterson in effect have that same kind of control?

I'm pretty sure Parcells was hired to do Huizenga's job. So when Parcells left, Ross started doing his job. Now Ross is hiring Peterson to do his job. So I would assume Ireland has been doing the same job the entire time.

I'd love to see the talent develop. Like Gates who wallows behind a virtually useless Hartline.

And Jerry, who is sitting behind one foot out the door Carey.

And Devlin, who maybe has a shot as a developmental guy, rather than playing JP Losman if Moore can't go.

I'm talking about guys who aren't late round prospects. Guys like Vontae Davis and Jared Odrick, and even guys like Brandon Marshall. Its very easy to check out and goof off when the substitute teacher arrives.

The one thing I will say I admired by TS, was that he never said "Jets" in pressers or at least I don't remember it......it was always "that team" "the other team" "those guys" "the other side"....

    that was pretty cool...

I know this is a disappointment for our rivals as now there's a chance future Dolphins teams will be coached competently.
