CB's Davis and Smith will be very good in our Quarters scheme. I think we will have one of the best secondaries that we've had in Miami if our rookies are coachable and stay healthy. Both are physically big and should give us some great options in coverage. I think we'll see a significant increase in INT's this season too.
Loved the brilliant post about the quarters scheme, I've read through it several times.
Do you foresee Davis and Smith both being starters by 2010? I'd like to hope one of them could beat out Eric Green and/or Jason Allen in 2009.
I think Davis starts right now, and Smith may replace Will Allen next season but play alot this year. I think Will Allen is in his last season in Miami.
I wouldnt mind seeing us go with both rookies right now at CB.
i love the 2 CB picks. I was hoping we would do that. if i had the energy to find the post i would. lol. No more secondary problems for us. our defense has no excuses now. i would be nice if we could get a pass rush specialist. maybe we'll get JT back for a year.
I think it was a good idea to get 2 CB's in case one of them is a bust. It would be nice if they both start if they earn it! I'm excited about our Defense!
Was wondering what you thought, thank you.
LOL> don't be like that. Wake must be something special, plus we'll bring back JT, and maybe we'll draft WR Dilliard. maybe we can get DT Dorel Scott. i think he's still available isn't he?
Our secondary is gonna be Insane in the Membrane MR. FinSane! (Please forgive the corny rhyme, i've had no sleep and i've been on the couch all day!) i think i'm getting delirious!
I will say I would have really liked OLB Barwin at 2a the way things fell to us.
OLB - Barwin
CB - Smith
That would have been quite the haul... but given my love for Offense I bet Pat White quickly becomes one of my favorites. He and Ginn can sure make a field seem large the way they move.
i would have picked everette brown or paul kruger. But what's done, is done. i'm excited about having a true passing threat in the wild cat.
I've been getting a whole bunch of repeat Quarters coverage questions since the draft, so I thought I'd bump this up to help out with the basics.
Bump - I've seen a bunch of new threads touching on coverage, so thought I'd bump up this thread.
no secret the coaching staff have been experimenting w/ new defensive packages maybe this or a variation of this will show up on the radar in one form or another. certainly got the Hammer & Anvil @ Safety. then again maybe not. anyway it goes, very interesting thread. I appreciate the time & work that went into it. Kudos!
Great thought, coach. Your original post all those months ago was without a doubt one of the best and most informative in our entire history here at thephins.
Additionally, your breakdown and explanation illustrated what a great teacher you must be for your kids. I know it was a learning moment for me.
We're gaining new members all the time so bumping this ought to be very much appreciated.
i knew JT would be back! I'm glad he is!
hey my man dolfanmike, what do you see now as the most significant problems we are having with this scheme??? we can't seem to stop a tight end consistently very well at all, now we have lost will allen for the season, just curious what you see here after our 2-4 start. btw thanks for the insight and really enjoyed the thread.
Yeah. Let's hear it.
wow man this is a great post, you really broke down our defense and i am really impressed. go fins! Bell is a beast, probably our best defender
