Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles has made no secret that he would like a new deal with the team. In a sign that he’s likely to get one, Coles showed up to the Jets’ voluntary off-season training program on Monday. The Star-Ledger reports that the deal he’ll make with the team won’t necessarily be a new contract this year, but it may be an assurance that he’ll get a new contract next year if he stays healthy, or that the team will let him seek a trade. http://www.nj.com/jets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1206423403148520.xml&coll=1
Just an assurance? I would think it would have to be some sort of written contract. Wasnt it one of the Jests Olineman that got screwed on that last year?
