Didnt see this posted, but year in and year out, the popularity bowl shows just how useless and how much of a joke it really is. After all the reports of Chad being the second alternate if someone drops out, it was Collins who was chosen over Chad.. As was anticipated Bretty dropped out.. But how Collins got in and not Chad is the neverending question.
At least we all know Chad is a class act and doesnt need to be considered for the popularity bowl to know his team needs him. Collins on the other hand, tells his team he retires if his geriatric self doesnt get a long term deal. Theres class for ya

I would have thought that Rivers, or Chad would be next since they are both very much deserving of the pro bowl. At least Jake got in yesterday so I cant complain too much.

Meh.
I'm sure Broncos fans are pissed off that Jake Long got the nod over Ryan Clady. Clady played just as well as Long did, but Long got the Pro-Bowl nod cause he was the #1 overall pick that everyone has heard of. Clady started all 16 games and gave up less sacks and less penalties than Long did (of course, Jake is a better run-blocker).
I'm not here to diss Long. I love the guy and he was the right pick, but he's just another example of how the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest and that can cut both ways.Skywalker, mullingan, Pauly and 1 other person like this. -

Thanks, I must have missed that. Well then there was no doubt in my mind that Chad should have been the next in line. -
I'm sorry, but the Pro Bowl is supposed to be an individual thing, unlike MVP. The fact that a QB with an 80.2 QBR made it over a QB with a 97.4 QBR just proves to me how stupid people really are. I will be turning the TV off as soon as Kerry Collins steps into the game, whether Ronnie and/or Long are in the game or not.

Seems like my interest in pro sports dwindles more and more each year. I gave up watching this game years ago. I have no use for pro basketball. I gave up baseball 2 or 3 years ago, and hardly ever watch golf anymore either. My passion for the Fins hasnt slowed down any, but it seems I dont have to watch every game in the NFL on sunday anymore.

Chad gets screwed again.:pity:

(Hypothetically speaking of course) We should wonder if the NFL offices altered voting and chose players themselves who went instead of counting votes and decided who went on name recognotion alone... I say this because no intelligent voter would have chosen many of the names that are on these rosters... Such a travesty... Seems like a high school popularity contest nowadays -
.....Forgive my ignorance but... who the heck is Kerry Collins?

HOW BOUT NO?! -
Way too big a deal out of this.
This is just another game added to market to the fans.
Of course it's a popularity contest along with results of the player.
The players that a majority of fans want to see in the Pro Bowl making it assures that the interest in the game will be there for the ratings.
Look at the Titans team and the success they had with him at the helm.
It's not like this came out of nowhere and was given to an undeserving QB.
Chad will survive and he can afford a trip to Hawaii if he wants to vacation there in the offseason. No sympathy here.
