The Colts may not be exactly be galloping into Miami to face the Dolphins this weekend. Seven of the team’s 22 starters did not practice on Thursday, including three of Indianapolis’ offensive linemen.

Head coach Frank Reich said earlier this week that it wasn’t looking good for left guard Quenton Nelson (ankle/knee) and he’s now missed the first two days of practice. Though left tackle Eric Fisher was a full participant after a rest day on Wednesday, tight tackle Braden Smith (foot/thumb) remains sidelined. Right guard Mark Glowinski (knee) was downgraded from limited to DNP on Thursday.

Tight end Jack Doyle (back) didn’t practice for the second day in a row.

On defense, safety Khari Willis (ankle/groin), cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (ankle), and end Kwity Paye (hamstring) all did not practice for the second day in a row. But Darius Leonard (ankle), who has not missed a snap for the Colts, went from a non-participant to limited. He’s been dealing with the ankle injury all season. Defensive tackle Antwaun Woods (back) also went from DNP to limited.

As for quarterback Carson Wentz (ankles), he was a limited participant for the second consecutive day. Barring a setback, he’s expected to start again this week. Running back Jonathan Taylor (knee) was also limited for the second straight practice.

Everything helps. But the defense still has to show up

Can't blame the defense when they're on the field the entire game.

How about the offense put together some drives and keep the defense off the field for a little while?

Good the Colts are banged up. This is a must-win game. We fall to 1-3 and the season looks like a flop. We maintain 2-2 and we're still on track for a playoff berth. Vegas favors the Dolphins by 2 points.

I thought we would be 2-2 after this game when I looked at the schedule. The sky isn't falling. That's just the dolphin fans tears for not being perfect.

After 51 consecutive starts to begin his career, Quenton Nelson‘s streak is coming to an end. The Colts left guard is one of five players Indianapolis has ruled out for its Week Four matchup with Miami on Sunday. Head coach Frank Reich told reporters on Friday that Nelson is dealing with a high ankle sprain, but it’s possible Nelson could come back and play next week.

A second starter on the offensive line has also been declared out, with right tackle Braden Smith now set to miss his third straight game with a foot sprain. Right guard Mark Glowinski has not been declared out, but he was also on the injury report this week with a knee injury. He did not participate on Thursday.

Defensive end Kwity Paye (hamstring), safety Khari Willis (groin), and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (ankle) have also been declared out. That’s three starters for Indianapolis’ defense, which could end up being a significant factor against former Colts QB Jacoby Brissett and the rest of Miami’s offense.

The only person listed OUT for the Fins is Deiter. Another blow to the Offensive (in more ways than one) Line.
