Colts could lose Dallas Clark for season

padre31Luxury BoxOPUpdating a previous item, Dallas Clark is visiting "world-renowned" hand specialist Dr. Thomas Graham in Cleveland on Thursday.
"We're just not sure right now whether Dallas would be out a few weeks, or if it's going to be longer than that," Clark's agent said Thursday. We should have an update on Clark's status by Thursday night.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Austin Collie will be sidelined "a few weeks" after undergoing surgery on his hand this week.
Pick up Anthony Gonzalez if he's available on your league's waiver wire. Rotoworld's source suggested that Collie could miss 2-6 weeks, which is in line with Schefter's timetable. Collie should be kept in all leagues, as there's a chance he may only miss a game or two. Peyton Manning's value takes more than a glancing blow with both Collie and Clark out of the lineup in the short term.
Coach Jim Caldwell suggested that backup TE Jacob Tamme's versatility will allow him to play in the slot and at receiver, much like Dallas Clark has done.
The Colts could have attempted to paper over Clark's loss with more four-wide looks, but Austin Collie's absence makes that a challenge. Tamme has the receiving skills necessary for an expanded role, and he's caught 25 passes over the past three exhibition seasons. He's worth adding in deeper leagues as Clark insurance.
Well, add in the oft injured Anthony Gonzalez as well as Joseph Addai and the Offensive Machine that is the Colts is missing a few spark plug wires, if Caldwell thinks Jacob Tamme can fill in for Dallas Clark I want some of what he is drinking..

WE'll see, the AFCS is one the divisions that could produce a rival for a Wildcard, the Titans and Texans are both really sharp this season.
They do, or did have, John Chick, the 09 CFL DPOY, but I'm not sure if he is still on the practice squad or not.

One man can only do so much.
All the things that Peyton does takes time to pick up.
The majority of the Colts plays are called within the last 17-12 seconds of the play clock. Damn hard for a kid from nowhere to pick that up at the last minute.
Damn hard for an experienced receiver that has been doing it for many years to do it.

True, and in 09 PManning spent days in the offseason working with Austin Collie and P Garcon just on sight adjustments of their routes.
I do think the Colts got a solid Keeper in Blair White, that dude will flourish in Indy, smart and fast and sure handed.
