I am not as nieve as some to believe we are only ONE player away from a super bowl.

Our two aging outside linebackers have produced very little QB pressure this season thus causing problems for our secondary.

    Porter 10 qb pressures...585 plays
    Jason 14 qb pressures...677 plays
    Wake 18 qb pressures...133 plays
The two starting olbs for Dallas have
70 pressures versus versus 24 for OUR starters
    Would this help our secondary????????????

If your going to run a 3-4 defense you better have
a great run stopper up front and I don't see where
Soliai fits that mold....there's a reason why our run defense has dropped from one of the top run defenses to #14
Ferguson is another aging player who is injury prone.

Our 2 inside linebackers are SLOW and there coverage skills
    are terrible.

Crowder has allowed 29 out of 35 passes for 316 yards
the qb rating against him is 101.9 which is very bad

Akin has allowed 17 out of 21 passes for 248 yards
the qb rating against him is an absurd 131.7

Crowder and Akin are so slow that our two safeties have
out tackled them 192 to 109...very sad

Crowder leads the team in missed tackles with 10
    Akin has 6 missed tackles

These two are so bad you can take a player such as John Beason and he has better stats than if you add both Crowder and Akin's stats together...for God's sake

    Crowder and Akin...tackles...109
    Beason .................tackles ...121

    Crowder and Akin...interceptions...1
    Beason..................interceptions...3

    Crowder and Akin passes defended...2
    Beason................passes defended...6

    Crowder and Akin sacks...1
    Beason ...............sacks...2

    Crowder and Akin forced fumbles...1
    Beason................forced fumbles...0

Thank God I didn't compare Crowder and Akin to Patric Willis who beats both of our inside linebacker stats added together in every statistical category.

    WE WILL NEVER WIN ANYTHING
WITH THESE TWO IMPOSTERS IN THE MIDDLE

    How about our two safeties
Stats show that both Bell and Wilson are poor versus the pass

Bell has given up 29 receptions for 355 yards
Wilson has given up 17 receptions for 227 yards

Wilson has 7 missed tackles versus only1 for Bell

Both Bell and Wilson are #1 and #2 in tackles on the team
but this is because of the lack of play by our two inside linebackers,,,I have yet to find a team in the NFL that has there safeties leading the team in tackles (#1 and #2)

Our safeties do not create turnovers, they do not have any game changing abilities just like the 2 inside linebackers.

Our two corners are having a tough first year with both allowing close to 20 yards per reception.Davis might be close to allowing 1000 yards receiving this season which is astronomical and Smith is not that far behind.

I think this has more to do with a non existent pressure
Yeah we get sacks which is great but the leader of qb pressures on this team should'nt be the guy with only 133 snaps. We do not create constant pressure and this creates problems for our secondary.

Our lack of safety help has also been quite a problem this season and I believe the biggest reason for our cornerback problems.

So are we ONE player away???
I don't think so...I can think of 7 players on defense
    that need to be upgraded

As for the offense we all know what the biggest need is
but questions still arise with Brown,Cobbs,Ginn,Thomas,Smiley,Grove

All in all I believe the offense is a much easier fix than the defense and with two more strong drafts we should have all the pieces of the puzzle to make considerable noise in the NFL.

There's a guy by the name of Antonio Bryant, he recently made up with Parcells. Go get him... Go get Tony Scheffler while you're at it and call it a day. Then address the defense with draft pick after pick and heck maybe even D'Qwell Jackson. I hate seeing the secondary burnt to a crisp non-stop.
