Common sense would tell you were going to play are younger guys if we can't get a few more win's.
As far as CP play so far, he has a QBR of 97.4/ 6 TD's/ 3 INT/ 1'396 yards and 1 Fum's so far and i think it's safe to say if he had better Oline play and better WR he'd be having a even better year, with more yards and TD's
ahh so let's look at a team that has that, how about the Jets.
Brett Favre has a QBR of 92.3/ 13 TD's/ 8 INT/ 1321 yards and 6 fum's so far on the year and i think it's safe to say with our Oline play and our WR he'd be having a year with even more INT's and Fum's.
So my point is..........unless CH wakes up one day and starts playing like one of the best QB's ever, he may not play in a meaningful game in the next two years, and if CP plays like he has been he'll be our starting QB for longer then just two years.
Whats your take???

The offensive line is not nearly as bad as you think it is. IMO it is pretty good.

We have had only 2 games out of 6 that we rushed for more yards then the teams we played. That's kind of why were 2-4 right now.
Other then the two win's.......... Where we did kick some butt, here is what we have done.
Week 1. 49 rushing yards
Week 2. 72 rushing yards
Week 6. 96 rushing yards
Week 7. 69 rushing yards
If we all can that agree it's not RB and RW that's sucking. Then it points at the Oline. We only started useing the "wildcat" because we couldn't run the ball,,,,after all.
Having a Vet playing QB helps mask how bad the Oline has played as well.Themole and Larryfinfan like this. -
It's the interior of the oline that's been the problem as of late. Jake has been great and Carey has been pretty good. A lot of the problem with the lack of production in the run game has been because of the middle of the oline getting soft and our play calling has been so up and down. I think they give up on the traditional run game too fast and try to get gimmicky.

The OL is playing better than it has in several years. When you take into account the youth there, I believe things will only get better. Those stats on Favre tell me the Jets OL is not playing as well as the Dolphins. 8 INT's and 6 fumbles tell me Favre does not have the time he needs to make the throws. The 13 TD's say he has much better receivers.
Another stat you left out is CP has been sacked 10 times where Favre has been sacked 15... and Favre is known for his quick release and ability to throw on the run.
I think Henne is in an ideal spot right now. He is learning from one of the smartest and most accurate passers in the NFL, and has some great coaches as well. If he can learn to be as accurate and read defenses like CP can... plus have an arm to get the ball downfield... Henne is going to be special!!!Brown42000 and alen1 like this. -

At any rate, it's certainly not our weakest link right now. The problem we're having now is that the D can't seem to get consistent pressure on the opposing QB. Once the pressure disappears, the secondary is exposed for what it is...terrible. We knew this coming into the year, so it shouldn't surprise anyone. Now with Fergy out, it will be that much more critical to get pressure or at least hold our own on the DL. That hasn't been happening even with Fergy on a consistent basis.
The other thing that is hurting us is our lack of big play ability. Be it that CP can't throw the ball deep effectively or that the OL isn't opening holes for Brown to get into the second level, or Brown and Williams aren't doing it, or that the WR can't get separation, or that CP hasn't had time to throw deep...any way you look at it, we can't seem to hit on the big plays...Not like against NE...Plodding up and down the field is nice if you have a lead...It allows you D to just open up and pressure the QB all day...but we haven't had that mainly because we haven't had many big plays on offense... -
