I can remember for years, growing up and watching football, my dad talking about the 'Ain'ts.' Every year he had to almost laugh, and cry, at how the Saints finished next to last. But he admittedly felt sorry for them. He was working in New Orleans in '67 when they started the team, and told me about how insanely happy they were to have a team. Every seat was sold out for a game for a couple years, and they were terrible. I'm glad I got to see a team that's never had much in the word of success, to go and make it to the Super Bowl. The Saints have earned it, and the city has earned it with their loyalty. I hope they're partying hard for the Super Bowl, and maybe they'll be partying even harder when it's over.
It makes me feel good about our team when I think how we should have beat both of these teams... But between Ginn struggling and a call that was bad enough to take up 2 pages in sports illustrated we were just a lowley 7-9 football team.
