Dolphins center Connor Williams is the only player not in attendance today at the team’s mandatory minicamp.

Miami head coach Mike McDaniel said today that they have been in communication and Williams’ absence is not excused.

The Dolphins can fine Williams, and players who skip a three-day mandatory minicamp are typically fined just under $100,000.

Williams is heading into the second and final season of the two-year, $14 million contract he signed last year and would like a new contract with a pay raise. He’s willing to risk losing some money in the offseason to get the point across that he wants to be earning more by the time the season starts.

Naw man is 1 year into his deal and trying to pull a power move. Coach needs to address this quickly make a move for someone better and cut/trade his ***. He’s not an all pro imho

Disappointing. If he was some offensive linemen stand-out and had already been with the team for 2-3 years, I could understand holding out, but an "adequate" performance as a center after one year with the team?

This needs to be nipped in the butt right quick and in a hurry.

Well, he is the second best OL member, right? And more dependable as far as staying healthy. I'd be okay if they offer some incentives, adding a possible 1-2 million dollars extra to his salary for 2023.

What does it say if they cave to him meanwhile others like Wilkins are showing up? I think I'd be pissed if i showed up and they gave some other dude an extension because he held out. Wilkins deserves it way more.

The team’s biggest question mark is the OL, no? Either that or Tua’s health, which the OL has a lot to do with. There are concerns with two of the starters, and depth is worrisome. There’s no way they can afford to go into the season without Williams anchoring the line.

NFL contract lengths are pretend. He moved to a new position and killed it. He was well above average his first year as a center, in a scheme that asks a lot of its centers, and is 26 years old. Why would he risk injury without more $?
