Porter should clearly have the advantage over Harris and his cohort on the other side: Corland Green. Green is a journeyman who is best suited to a backup role rather than weekly starter. Green has problems with dropping his hands during his kick slide which allows defenders to push past him around the corner to get to the QB.

Here is something else that I noticed whilst watching Green: on pass sets he will telegraph the play most times my taking his right foot and dropping it back into an extreme pass pro set. Obviously, Green has issues with speed rushers and takes this approach to get the job done. He wouldn’t have such a problem in my opinion if he would hold his hands higher during his kick slide.

Green can be driven back too as he also lacks a solid base and can be had by powerful DE’s. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Kendall Langford make an appearance this week; simply because of the player he will face all game long. Langford may get a sack this week as he can produce enough leverage to cause Green problems.

However, anytime Randy Starks gets into the game at LDE I think the Raiders will have issues defending a player of his skill set with their RT. Starks should be able to bull rush, rip, swim and generally abuse Corland Green this week. Green does not possess the ability to redirect Starks or to stand him up on his own.

My favorite every week. Any chance the coaches try Satele @ RG to fix that hole? Alleman and Murphy can play C and Satele can make the line calls from RG? I know they played w/ that lineup in preseason.

I doubt they do that. If Satele has problems drive blocking now, moving him to G - a position that requires much more power than a C wouldn't be a good option IMO. I don't know if his shoulder harness is hampering his ability to drive defenders off of the ball, but it will be interesting to see if he has off season shoulder surgery, and for what?
