A couple was arrested at their suburban Lake Worth home after an investigator found their 16-month-old child surrounded by broken glass, lying on filthy sheets and covered in her own feces, according to a report.
Inside the refrigerator, a Palm Beach County deputy said, the only food was half a banana.
But the unit did hold baggies containing marijuana, cocaine and Xanax, the report said.
Carlos Rodriguez, 22, and Martha Figueroa, 20, were arrested Monday evening.
This morning, Rodriguez, a native of Honduras, was ordered held in lieu of $12,000 bail, but was being kept in jail for federal immigration officials.
He is charged with one count of child neglect, one count each of marijuana and cocaine possession, one of submitting a false identification, and 52 of illegal possession of prescription drugs.
