Parcells and company are known for picking up players from their former team. i wonder if we're interested in getting another LB to compete?

I think adding Ellis would be the definition of a progress stopper, at this point. Adding him to the pass rush mix would mean Cameron Wake is on the back-burner, which I doubt they want to do.

He's one of the better run defending OLBs in the league, but so is Matt Roth. I think Roth can be pretty close in terms of ability once he loses that extra weight he had last season.

Considering Ellis is an outside guy, I don't see the need for him at all. If he played inside and would compliment Crowder, then I'd be interested. Cost is a bit steep though Cap wise. At this point I don't want to give up a DP for him.

Honestly at this point we probably need to be looking at RG more than anything.

    BINGO!

    1. We got plenty of OLBs.
    2. He ain't young.
    3. He's probably expensive.
    4. We got other glaring needs (ILB and G).

Exactly. On both sides of the coin.

Dallas drafted Anthony Spencer #1 two years ago, and he was ready to start a year ago if not for injuries. Even last year Spencer played nearly as much as Ellis, with Ellis transitioning into a third-down role.

Roth will benefit from an entire offseason as a LB, getting healthy (had groin surgery in January), and shedding some weight.

Ellis is a better pass rusher, but the move does not make any sense for us.

New England needs pass-rushing LBs....maybe we SHOULD sign him. Just kidding. We gotta worry about us, not them!

You just added Jason Taylor to play the Same Position, I mean you don't want to over crowd this position with too many people.
