I think he is a Tampa 2 guy

although sometimes I wish we played the tampa 2

 

early yet, no reliable times or measurables...but he's a ballhawk. only listed time is 4.59, which is on the slow side. i'll be interested in how he times electronically.

i'll say this: he plays faster than that time, and he's smart.

not the ideal size for a ss-type, but we'll have to look at his frame to see if he can add some muscle..

 

I like the kid, but I'm starting to wonder if safety is a priority with Jason Allen playing so well. I guess it all comes down to whether they feel Bell can make a full recovery from the achilles injury.

Give me Trufant, Allen at FS,Steltz at SS, W Allen at 2dn and a rookie CB at 3rd and u got urself a good secondary at the least.

 

I'll give you never healthy, but the guy is a playmaker in the secondary.

 

he is playmaker but teams take advnatage of his coverage ability. hes a good tackler hard hitter n all but aint no Steltz type of hitter and bell is so so in coverage. trust. why u think TE's n WR go up the middle on us

 

Personally i think Bells career is over. I mean it's a shame cause he was primed for a big season this year, but he was so-so at a lot of things going into this season, after this injury he's gonna go from so-so to just bad at a lot of things.

 

take it from an LSU season ticket holder, you dont want Steltz in our secondary. He is a good college player. But contrary to what was posted earlier, he plays slow. He can bring the lumber, but he is a liability in coverage. I dont see him making it in the NFL on anything but Special Teams. 5th Round, at best..

safety position might be the weakest of all the positions in this upcoming draft. By the 2nd round anyone you might want will be gone. After that its just training camp fodder and special teams guys

 

Steltz is probably at his best as an in the box safety in the NFL. He is another guy that it really depends on his time at the combine. I disagree with the other poster, I think Steltz plays faster than he times, he takes good angles, anticpates well and does not take a lot of false steps. He does not track receivers well and will be limited in coverage, he is best playing forward...pure safety, and cannot cover a slot guy. Times his hits well also as he seems to knock a lot of balls loose...... Despite his Int numbers he seems to always look for the hit instead of the ball. IMHO he will be an fringe/adequate starter in the NFL but never a star. I would say he is a round 4-5 type guy but could move up or down significantly depending on his combine. Reminds me of Zbitowski of ND but a little more limited in the AA department.

I agree that he is probably best in a T2 type defense or a 4-6 around the line.
