So, I just got back from my storm shelter. We had a tornado on the ground about a half mile from where it is located. I'm fine, but there are words of damage to the city and college where I live. This is my third severe storm (Tornado/Hail) in 10 days. Crazy.
Anyone else experiencing this?

if you are not from that area and plan on being there for a while, then get used to it. this time of year and in the fall especially. i lived in KC for almost 15 years and i never really got used to it.Last edited: Jun 12, 2008Vengeful Odin likes this. -
Lived here for all of my 29 years my friend ... doesn't make it any less nuts. Word coming out now is that it plowed through the middle of the Kansas State University campus ... about 2 miles from where I live.

i'm originally form the north east and i had a hard time with the flat and the weather. my wife is from that area and we are planning a trip back later this summer.
i hope that the damage is minimal and that everyone is safe. i know that they are working on early warning out there. do you get any KC channels in Manhatten? -

I lived in Wichita for 5 1/2 years and never saw a tornado. I guess that's a good thing

Iowa here, been through 3 tornado warnings so far.
1 missed us only by 4 miles north did some damage to a friend of my brothers house. Another one we got real lucky the funnel cloud went over top my house and the town. We where getting 80 mph winds and luckily never got a touch down. Destroyed some trees though. The other siren not sure where it was spotted.
Keep in mind those 3 where just last 2 weeks. Luckily im not near any of the rivers flooding has officially passed 1993 here in Iowa -
Wow,be safe folks!

Odin, I don't know how I've missed up until now that you're from Manhattan. My dad was a KSU grad back in the day, and I've been a fan by blood ever since. (The Wildcats are #2 to The U, of course.)
