Rules:
1) You can play a player at any position. Want to put Sam Madison at QB? Go for it. Dont expect agreement, but go for it.
2) Select no more players than you need to run a scheme and explain what their role is in the offense. I'd say a good limit would be:
QB
HB
FB
2TE
O-Line
5 WR
2 DE
2 DT
4 LB
5 CB
2 Safety
You can also choose a kicker and punter if you want.
I'll be working on mine and post in a bit.
For clarity, a player can have played here for only a year to be eligible but consider the players you select to be at the skill level they were in their prime on OUR TEAM.

Marino's my QB. Suh's my fullback. Then give me five of our top all-time linemen and Ricky Williams at RB. At TE, Fasano and one other run-stuffer...I'm at work and can't give too much thought to this. For WR...how about Ronnie Brown, Miller, Drake, Jake Long and Tannehill for good measure. It really doesn't matter because we're not passing the ball EVER.
Punter and kicker? What the heck do I need those for...we're playing 4-down football here.AGuyNamedAlex likes this. -
QB - Marino
HB - Williams, Csonka (wasn't born when Csonka played but watched enough)
FB - Keith Byers / Konrad
2TE - Keith Jackson/ Mad Dog
O-Line - Stephenson, Webb, Simms, Long, Keuch, Little
5 WR Clayton, Duper, Gadson, Warfield, OJ McDuffie
2 DE - Taylor, Wake
2 DT Bowens, Gardener
4 LB - Offerdahl, Cox, Thomas, Buoniconti
5 CB Vincent, Madison, Buckley, Surtain
2 Safety Oliver, Jones, Scott
Reggie Roby greatest punter in NFL history.. As for kicker I'd go for Stoyo but the bastard missed a few big kicks in the playoffs so I'll leave it blank. Can we trade for Vinatieri?Last edited: Dec 12, 2019BucksFinsfan, The_Dark_Knight and AGuyNamedAlex like this. -

Okay so I've put thought into it. I want to have fun and run a gimmick offense that can still line up in base sets while we shut it down on D. Btw you guys dont have to use my exact roster format it was just an example so you sont go choosing 52 players lol basically choose what you need to do what you want.
QB: Marino
HB: Ricky Williams
FB: Larry Csonka
TE: Keith Jackson
TE2: Randy McMichael
WR1: Paul Warfield
WR2: Mark Clayton
WR3: Wes Welker
WR4: Reggie Bush
WR5: Ryan Tannehill (Thanks for the idea Key)
LT: Richmond Webb
LG: Dwight Stephenson
C: Tim Ruddy
RG: Larry Little
RT: Jake Long
Some of these guys are out of position, especially OL but with their talents I believe they could do a fine job.
Also I didnt build this to win necessarily, just to run a fun dynamic offense.
I'll work on the D later.BucksFinsfan likes this. -
The one thing I will give Pat, is even though he couldn't cut it as a QB he gave it 150% effort. -
For me, I'm going to limit my team to the last 30 years while I've been a diehard fan. So excluding players who played before that point isn't an intended slight, its just that I didn't see them play, or only saw the tail end of their career.
QB: Dan Marino, Ryan Tannehill
HB: Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown, Lamar Miller

I see you listed only ONE quarterback but I would add one to that list and it may come as a surprise, I would add Don Strock. Marino himself has stated before that he learned A LOT from Strock's tutelage and would often consult with him on the sidelines after series. -

So I called the radio show and there were no call-screeners back then....I was on live air from the moment they answered. And I asked, "How does it feel to be replaced by some new guy at QB?" And Don was silent for a moment, I don't think anyone expected a kid to ask something like that. But he kept his composure and explained that he was towards the end of his career, he's there for the team, etc. He was a better person than I was that day, but again....I was 10 years old using a phone unsupervised.
I didn't like his answer though so I asked him, "Well, do you think he's better than you?" The announcers laughed and there was another long pause. And I honestly can't remember his answer thirty-something years later, but it was gracious, composed and complimentary to Marino. Then he thanks me for being a fan and asked me off-air for my address so he could send me something...it was a signed photo of him and Marino talking in practice.
It's not much of a "sports memory" but I always smile when I think about it. If I would have asked Marino the same thing towards the end of his career (which is when I saw him the most as a late teen/early 20's), he would have cussed me out something fierce...even if it was on-air. So I always think fondly of Don Strock getting grilled by a little kid on the radio. =)Last edited: Dec 14, 2019Puka-head, Phin McCool, hitman8 and 2 others like this. -
