It's about time. Shame we didn't send Grier packing with him. But ya know, Stephen Ross is actually dumber than Grier apparently.
I wonder if he wants to stay a special teams coach now that he’s had a taste of being the head honcho.
Crossman was long overdue. Interesting enough, the special teams unit tends to be a microcosm of the overall quality of depth in a given roster. It is possible that when a GM may have failed to equip the team with capable backup linemen, linebackers, safeties and skill positions the special teams coordinator, serves as a nice scapegoat. For example, I, Eddie Jones, fearful of losing my job because I’ve failed to fill out a roster with adequate talent, may opt to run Mike Westoff out of town and scapegoat him for an underperforming special teams unit, and close the case there. Food for thought.
I get what you’re saying and there could be some truth there with faltering teams with jobs on the line, but I don’t think that’s the case here. How Crossman survived as long as he did astounds me.
This. Aside from Sanders (who wasn't a Crossman product) special teams has consistently been bad to awful. Mistakes everywhere, unprepared and bringing nothing to the table.
right? What was the excuse for Welker being let go? They blaming him for Hill and Waddle not balling out? Yet, he apparently helped them ball out the 2 previous years?
