For those who can't listen..
He no'nos like Jeff Ireland pretty much sums it up, say's ''Irish fined him when he spoke out last year and the year before''..Says Irish cut him''..
Say's that ''Henne has not impressed him in the two years hes been playing, and wouldn't bet on him becoming better'', says that ''learning a new offense is an oxymoron for a QB trying to improve''..
Says he ''loves our coach''..
Well, if this coach can somehow keep this team united during this amount of adversity, I'am gonna love him too..
Was the cut justified from a football standpoint by Irish?
Can a team stay united with this amount of pressure?
Because Crowder was our class clown and emotional leader, will that affect the chemistry of our team and create discontent amongst its members at the first sign of adversity?
If you have ever wanted to coach a football team with a ''us against the world mentality'' Sparano has it times a hundred..
Wow.. What a responsibility this man has on his plate..
I hope this team is mature enough, to come together and stay together, and really fight for respect..It could be a great great story..

However, how well would you like the guy who cut you or took your money?
Also, how many offensive players do you think Crowder thinks is "good" or has "impressed him"? I'd guess other than long, not many. This entire offense sucked last year. However, that doesn't mean every player sucked. -
-
Don't really see that as going off on Ireland. But to be honest, none of this really surprises me, and seems to follow along with everything we've heard from players or former players.

Here's the Q&A on Chad Henne.
Question: "Can Chad Henne get the job done" (Big Dog's words, asked him point blank)
"As of what I've seen so far? No. I played with him a couple years ... He really hasn't proven anything to me when I played with him and now being on this side, looking down on him as a fan, he's not impressing me, either. He has all the tangibles, I want to say, arm strength ... his feet work funny, but he can make some good throws, but the intangibles, the winning the game, wanting to have everything on his shoulders, like the Bradys and like the Mannings, and wanting to be down by five with a minute left on the 20-yard-line, let's see what happens, he doesn't have that in his heart yet, and I think it will be hard for him to win, but like I said the proof's in the pudding, so if he comes out this year and going crazy, I'll have my foot in my mouth, but, if I was a betting man, (laughing) I wouldn't bet on him going crazy." -
He didn't really "go off" on Jeff Ireland. But, he did make it pretty clear they don't like each other. He openly compared their situation to that of Jason Taylor and Bill Parcells, and said JT is back because Parcells is gone...and he doesn't think he could be back with the Dolphins unless Ireland is gone.

Well he did say he didn't like getting fined. 'Stringer Bell likes this. -
He also said he saw Henne in the preseason game and I think that was what he was referring to when he said that as a fan he's not impressing him either. He suggested that maybe something could click in the new offense for him but said it's almost like an oxymoron to say he'll do better in a brand new offense, emphasizing that when the offense is brand new you basically do worse until everyone gets on board with it. That's probably part of why he said he if were a betting man he wouldn't bet on Henne doing well this year.
He was another person that noticed the defense look like it was slipping in that Falcons game, but he said he has confidence in Karlos and Yeremiah to get that tightened up and get everyone playing right.
He had some really glowing things to say about Jared Odrick. Said he has all the strength and speed you could want but his motor is what really impressed him the most while they were here together, amazing motor. Said he could come on the field and bring that "young, dumb happiness" and make a big impact as a rotational player.Bpk likes this. -

I bet if Crowder was asked if he thinks the ENTIRE offense could get it done this year he'd say no.
At least Crowder isn't spouting his opinion as fact... like some others around here.
Crowder isn't giving us rainbows and butterflies about Henne, he's saying that over the last two years Henne hasn't shown the "intangibles" of a Manning or Brady. However, intangibles can be taken from a person or learned by a person. I think Henning took Henne's from him last season. It's fairly obvious. Just look at Henne in 2009 or college compared to 2010. He looks like a different QB altogether.xphinfanx likes this. -

For me personally, I would of cut the guy too, its no secret I'am not a fan of his game, I'am not privy as to what kind of influence he had in that locker room..Hopefully the players feel about him as I do, great guy, would bleed for the team, but were better off without him, and we need to understand that, and move on.
-
Crowder if a funny, pretty intelligent guy. Hope he gets a good job in broadcasting cause I would definitely listen to him. Not a great LB, but I won't say he ever mailed it in, so I can't have any dislike for him.

Hope Crowder saved money from selling jerseys in college, he's gunna need the liquidity.

In other words, Crowder has an opinion and he makes sure that everyone realizes that it's just his opinion and not fact. -
Now Channing an emotional leader is cut for what? and Henne is getting all this backing from everyone including Ireland. So to him as a human being, he says they give me the shaft because I didnt do this or that yet I made other plays gave my heart and sould and yet I am cut and he is kept and named a starter without competition as if the defense was the issue and specifically Crowder. No conspiracy theories or ulterior motives, but could be some resentment, mixed with true feelings. Not saying Channing really loves Chad.
Either way to me it doesnt matter, how chad plays is up to chad.djphinfan likes this. -

Ive always been fine with Channing...I thought he was underrated...especially in run D.
I also have no problem with what Channing said about Henne. Look...being honest has been Channing's MO from the beginning. He may have mouthed off...but he didnt make stuff up. Henne has not shown the desire to have the ball in his hands when its on the line....Im a Henne believer an even I have criticized him for that. I want a QB who is willing to say gimme the F'n ball and lets go win a damned game. I posted an old Marino video off of you tube...where they discussed exactly that. And...dont give me the rah...rah...some players arent like that argument. Tom Brady isnt a rah rah type of guy....but hes a cold blooded defense killer. Anyone doubt Brady doesnt want the ball in his hands when its on the line.....thats the attitude Henne needs to have....and believe me...if Crowder is saying that....other players are thinking it as well. Henne has to prove to them he wants to lead this team.....they wont believe in him until he does that.ckparrothead likes this. -

I just wish the guy would rub some damned dirt in his hands......and become the QB this team needs to go all the way. -

That play where Marshall sissied it....and an Int resulted......
Henne should have gotten right in his face....Marino would have. And you know what....Marshall would have respected Henne more for it. -
I think the biggest thing from henne is tentitiveness, he dances too much and locks on. He needs to settle, step up and fire, be decisive and want it. I think he can, I think he is starting to but it has to show, no more well he can, it has to stop being can and become does. -
I guess this means TP's "why is the Henne discussion.." is a bit obsolete now?
Interestingly enough, the last time a player who just retired, Tiki Barber, ripped his old team's Qb, Eli Manning, they won the SB. -

Chad Henne has it in him.....watch how he reacts in this game against Florida. Wheres THAT fire....? -
If you listen to the interview it's nowhere near as bad as the clips and headlines will make it sound. He thinks the same thing we do. Henne hasn't gotten it done, YET.
Can't blame him for not liking Ireland. The man is a weasel.Bpk and MarinePhinFan like this. -
Seems the crowd for the most part doesn't seem to have a problem with Crowder's assessment of Henne.
Wait until Pro Football Talk gets hold of the interview though.
And you know they will.
I expect the crowd to turn after that. :)Bpk likes this. -

I've always liked Crowder, but more as a personality than a player and he's saying the obvious: Chad Henne has yet to prove anything in the NFL. No kidding. But if you listen to some of our resident experts they'd have you to believe that Henne is a proven failure.MarinePhinFan likes this. -

And one of his last 3 playoff losses was still in the Super Bowl.

That's all I was saying.
