Dolphins ILB Crowder questionable for season opener
"Dolphins ILB Channing Crowder (groin) did not practice Friday and is questionable for the Dolphins' season opener Sunday in Buffalo."

I have been thinking privately for some time now that Crowder needs to be replaced. It's a shame this big contract player wasn't addressed a few months ago. I would have loved for us to draft Sean Lee to replace this annually semi-injured player.

But Jake Long is PROBABLE...which was way more of a concern for me.

Works for me. I've seen enough of Crowder. I want to see what Dobbins can do. For some reason I have a feeling he's going to have a memorable hit or 2 in the run d game.

We can trust that Berger was superior to beat out Grove but some can't accept that Crowder beat out Dobbins? If the guy isn't good enough then he isn't good enough. This FO has shown that if a guy is better, he'll get his shot at the start. Clemons over Culver, Berger over Grove, Wake over Porter, Ike/Misi over Taylor. How many more examples of fair shots do we need to just believe Dobbins hasn't shown enough yet. That said, he may end up the starter soon, but I'm of the school of though that if a guy hasn't shown it yet, don't put him in a game over your starter just to see.

I think when Crowder plays he's going to make some plays and make a lot of fans pretty happy with him.
He's got a chemistry with Karlos Dansby and Koa Misi that just isn't there with Tim Dobbins, not yet (if ever).
I hope he plays Sunday but the Dolphins should be able to win this game without him. If it increases his chances of coming back healthy I'd rather sit him until Minnesota. We'll need him against Minnesota. -
In my experience, Miami has played the injury reporting pretty straight over the years under Sparano. If a guy is probable, it means he's playing. They'll actually downgrade him to questionable sometimes, and that'll mean he's probably not playing. In my experience when they list a guy as questionable it's because he's questionable, not because he's out and they want to get cute with the injury report like they're the Patriots or something.

That's just because guys that are actually hurting a little just don't appear on the injury report at all. It's not because guys that are questionable really are out and guys that are probable are really questionable.
And by the way what that table shows us is that 18 teams were more biased with their injury reporting than Miami was. -

I honestly dont think Crowder is so great he is not replaceable.
But the LT position...man I still have nightmares of having Wade Smith at that spot. -

Thats true but I cant blame Griese for getting blown up in that Colts game when we had the chance to win.
I was at that game. I remember being so happy we got the INT and then I was so pissed off when Smith got steamrolled and then Griese got blasted. -
If Crowder was anywhere near 100% he'd be practicing. The fact that we have a serviceable backup (Dobbins) who can play without any major drop off in performance means we can sit Channing until he's ready to play at/near 100%, the main reason I think he'll be in street clothes on Sunday. -
still shocked they would list him at questionable, after all those weeks of no practice, i would have thought, they would list him as out or doubtful

Here's another news article about the ever-injured, and annually sidelined Crowder.
