The Dolphins signed cornerback Chris Culliver in August with the knowledge that it would be some time before he’d be ready to play due to the torn ACL and MCL he suffered while with the Redskins last November. Culliver began practicing with the team last month and he said last week that he felt ready to return to action. It appears he’ll be getting the chance soon. The Dolphins announced on Monday that Culliver has been added to the 53-man roster. He’s not the only new face in the secondary as the team has also promoted cornerback Lafayette Pitts from the practice squad. Cornerback Chimdi Chekwa and defensive tackle Chris Jones were waived to make room. Culliver and Pitts join the team at a time when they’re still without rookie corner Xavien Howard due to a knee injury. Byron Maxwell and Tony Lippett have been starting with Bobby McCain joining them when three corners are on the field.
I like Lafayette Pitts. When Howard comes back, kick 41 to the curb. I'll take these young kids any day...I liked Pitts in College and I liked him in Pre Season. If he can play, McCain is solid. I think XH can be very good. All of the sudden, our DBs aren't nearly as dire as when the season started.
Well help is on the way. We have been harrassing the qb, and a little better quality and quantity at corner can help exponentially Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
