I know nobody cares about it, but it is my hometown now, so good for them. They won the New England Regional Final beating Andover, Mass 13-7, that is after beating Farfield, CT 8-7 in the semifinals. A bunch of kids live in the neighborhood, and are all good kids, no punks. The team can hit the ball, they mash baseballs top to bottom...they don't have the greatest pitching which is a deathnail in the LLWS, especially when you play those teams that have a kid or 2 who throws in the 90's at the MLB scale. Anywho first game is Friday the 19th at 3pm, against Hunington Beach, CA....
yeah any US team is nice, but I have a little extra on this seeing I know some of the kids...actually Baldelli's old man coachs part time... A few years ago when Cranston, RI (my original hometown) went all the way to the Finals and lost was freaking nuts...
Good luck to your hometown team, Finyank...I love watching the LLWS, and it's great to see that the covering networks (ABC and ESPN where I live) actually make somewhat of a big deal out of it (not more, not less than it deserves) and bring some of their top broadcasters (Brent Musberger, for one) to cover it...makes the kids feel good, and gives us all a good game to watch.
Tito has spoken.....love Tito, down to earth dude, I gave him a ride to the airport here in RI one year....it was like speaking to an Uncle...
Feel bad for the kids (presume they are all of age) in Uganda, Africa. Would have been cool to see them play and represent that continent for the first time ever. Red tape!
the coach came out and said it was their fault, that they didnt fill the paperwork out correctly.....they even admitted that they don't know when some of them were born....I bet alot of those kids are over 12 years old....
Rough one last night..if they lose tonight they are eliminated.....come on guys get the bats alive!! You guys see that kid catch the ball off the brim of his hat??
