Got a text from ESPN. Wizards and Mavs complete a 7 player trade. Butler and Haywood go to Dallas. Nothing else was said.

Wonder if they got tired of his character?

Will this trade put Terry back on the bench while Butler starts at the 2?

This deal marks Dallas as the second best team in the West, IMO. Dirk, Caron, The Jet, Haywood, Marion, Kidd, Barea... they'll compete with the Lakers, no doubt. While Caron Butler is a definite upgrade over Josh Howard on both sides of the floor, I also love what Haywood brings to the table for Dallas. His game will compliment Dirk's very well. He's more than capable of contributing everything Dallas overpaid Dampier to do, and more. The West is now three teams deep in terms of competitive nature to me (LAL, DEN, DAL). Lakers still favored, though.

Now that Caron is off the books for Washington, expect to see Jamison moved shortly.

You think Dallas can take Denver? I'm not so sure they can.

Butler is a true SF to me, but he can play some 2-guard. I'd think so.

    1- Kidd
    2- Butler
    3- Marion
    4- Dirk
    5- Haywood
    6th - Terry

    Or

    1- Kidd
    2- Terry
    3- Butler
    4- Dirk
    5- Haywood
    6th- Marion

I think it'd be a great 7 game series. Up in the air, really. Denver will probably maintain home court.

That along with the fact that he's underachieved big time so far this season. I never really saw Dallas as a player in the free agent market in 2010, and Howard can walk for free... this way, they get an even better player for him who remains under contract a bit longer.

Too good of a deal to pass up, regardless of character. This is a really good deal for BOTH teams.

Forgot about Deshawn and his beard! There's some much needed depth on the bench. That would be my only knock on Dallas; depth.
