Like the last great thing out of Miami the rest of the country hated, they're getting mostly hate and vitriol.

Appears they lost Big Voice and they have to play 'Tool or No Tool' now.

 

If you're surprised that 790 is bored of the Dolphins, you must not live in the area or ever listened online.

And the migration of interest away from the Dolphins is marked.

Also, I wouldn't call him a Heat homer. It's just that the coverage of the Heat is so negative that anything normal looks like cheerleading.

 

"tool or No tool" was ridiculous. I kept waiting for Dan to screw it up and say "Douche".

Is that a bad word? Can you not say that on ESPN?

 

This whole thing is bull****.

It's like watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Comedy Central rather than FX.
Or the Sopranos on... PAX

Anyone with half a brain cell could put together that this show The Dan Lebatard Show with Stugotz, would be neutered beyond recognition. And it's happening before our eyes. Worst move they could have possibly made IMO.

Let's recap, so far we no longer have:

-Big boy voiceover (a staple of this show since forever)
-Can't say dusche
-Deprecation of Stugotz (another staple of the show)
-THE WILD MIAMI CALLERS
-The free-willed banter that made this show so great

Honestly, it's like they brought The Wire to ABC Family...

 

I thought the first show was fine, but I'm not sure ESPN Radio listeners are interested in what Dan is selling. He's sort of a sports Howard Stern, which is completely different from what ESPN peddles.

Will there still be limited fakes, song parodies, etc.? I kind of doubt it. Nobody outside of Miami cares about Howard Schnellenberger let alone Fake Howard

 

If the limited fakes go too, I'm out.

 

Lebatard is not anti Dolphins, he has had Ryan Tannehill and Brent Grimes on the show in the past week.

 

Yes, he's interviewing Heat players lately because the Heat started training camp and they've become available to the media again. Also, 790 is the Heat flagship station.

The limited fakes and full fakes stopped themselves. Years ago the show used to be full of clever audience participation and really good fakes—remember fake Pavarotti singing about Nick Saban and Cam Cameron?—but they all faded away.

 

I'm sure there would still be limited fakes if Dan would take calls, but he has essentially stopped taking calls almost entirely.

They took calls for the first time in forever the other day for the "Combine Athlete with rock Band Name" and Dan hated it and preferred to just go by text.

My favorite limited fake of all time, the day after The Decision:

Limited Fake Eric Mangini-"Don't worry Cleveland, I'll save you."

 

Trying to listen to this show right now. Could care less about the dialogue at the moment.

 

I am the proud limited fake Jeff Garcia just a quick gay voiced "hut hut" or "readdddy break", always made Dan crack up. Also limited fake macho man. And I was fake little mermaid song.

Quick trivia....I actually screened fake Pavorotis first call. After that next time he called, we got his number so Mike Ryan could call him before the show to give him time to write something witty. The Trent Green one was still incredible.

 

Do you know who did the Fake Howard Schnellenberger? All time favorite limited fake.

 

I think that's Dan's attorney. I forgot his name. He did Friday shows for a while.
