http://www.examiner.com/x-39302-Miss...-solid-pro-day I know a lot of people were high on this guy during the draft. Ran a 4.4 forty yard dash, 41.5 inch vertical, and an incredible 4.12 shuttle drill at his pro day today. A 4.12 on a surgically repaired knee at that. Also keep in mind this guy is 6'5", and led Division 1 in receiving yards last year. I'd love to take a flyer on this guy. Freak athlete. Either way, who ever signs this guy could be getting a steal.
he was one of my favorite receivers coming out. I agree he has a very high upside. I also love his size/speed combo.
i couldnt open the link before but i just checked on him. if he's available we should sign him and stash him on PUP then put him on IR. The guy had a series of injuries and may need another year to be fully healed
I wouldn't. Alexander has had four knee surgeries. For all the talk that Patrick Turner can't separate, Alexander won't be doing it either after all those surgeries.
except Alexander at least caught the ball in college. Turner I still hold out hope for but I am thinking its hope through phins colored glasses. Alexander does play scared at times but he's worth a flier because the team that gets him to play normal will reap that reward and I think there's a significant reward to be had there. The physical ability is there, its mental with him.
I'm not sure where his physical ability stands right now. He's got talent but he had knee surgery after the draft and no one has picked him up. I think that speaks volumes. If he can't plant and cut then he's useless. The mental aspect is another obstacle that is a very hard one to overcome IMO. It's different when you have knee surgery once but when you have it four times, it starts to get to you.
he's still hobbled. he wont be ready for another couple of weeks. its not the skill level so much as you are basically just stashing him on your roster for a year
Yeah but if he's mentally shaken up, I don't know what you can get out of him. Similar to a quarterback IMO. If you're mentally screwed up, you won't have much success.
Well, whilst enjoying my Tsoumpas roast, I have nothing to lose by suggesting Danario Alexander is a great candidate for the UFL or CFL, he has physical talent, but taking a leap on signing him when his knee is still an issue seems like a long shot.
This is exactly what I would do. Sign him, stash him on the IR for a year. I don't know if he's still hobbled or not, but a 4.12 shuttle and a 4.4 while being hobbled is pretty darn impressive. Still, he has a lot of things to work on. He's also very injury prone. But there's no denying his talent, the guy is a physical freak.
Hope someone gives this kid a shot. I think hes going to be just fine long term and at the very least his measurables are worth a shot in my opinion
just reading a few things on alexander, him going to the rams has been in the works for a while and they really like him. I think they just hit the UDFA jackpot personally.
His problem is the leg has atrophied from the lack of usage do to the knee surgeries, the Rams were supposedly going to develop him and instead they put him into the lineup.
