Seriously, there should be a woman Bond. And Kate Beckingsale would be perfect for Jane Bond. Or even Kate Winslet. Or Daniel Craig's real life wife Rachel Weisz. Or maybe even Zoe Zaldana.
Seriously No. Women have their own Spy Characters... Nikita, Alias, MI-5 girls, Covert Affairs, etc... You would no more want a man to play Mata Hari, Nikita, or Sydney Bristow, then a woman to play 007. They can be 003 and a half or something. Spoiler (That's a joke) BTW, Cate Blanchett played Charlotte Gray.
Battling the evil deevil dizzle shizzle: Snoop DoggyMasterMind to thwart him taking over the Music industry and control kids minds with weed n rap. Wait... that's currently being done anyway.
If you are arguing that race plays an equal role in Bond as it does Shaft, then agree to disagree. James Bonds race is as integral a part of his character as Madea's IMO. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Shaft is considered by most to be prime example of the blaxploitation genre. While the original story was about a white character the movie changed that. Just looking at the Wikipedia for the movie Shaft, they have a section titled "Major Themes". In that section they only list two themes: "Portrayal of Race" and "Black Power through Masculinity". The clothing, the music were all about Shaft's "blackness". The Shaft character is about being a black detective in Harlem. His being black was an essential element to the character. IMO that was what made it an iconic movie. If a white character had been cast in that role it would simply be another detective movie. I doubt we'd even remember it now.
Are you ****ing kidding me? How does a topic about James Bond and who should be cast in the role next go so far off topic that we are talking about race in Hollywood films? Back to the original topic. Thanks.
Hmm... Jamie Bell and Tom Hiddleston are the "finalists" http://uinterview.com/news/jamie-bell-tom-hiddleston-finalists-james-bond-role/ Think I'd prefer Bell between the two, personally. Too bad, I'd have liked for them to consider a few others as well, including Dan Stevens.
We've done younger starting out Bond. let's have a grizzled verge of retirement Bond. Make him angry, bitter. then cast Hugh Laurie.
waaaat? I actually thought about mentioning Jamie Bell earlier but then I was like, this guy's just shy of 5'7 and weighs about a buck twenty. The Bond girls are bigger than he is. Jamie Dornan would've been a more intriguing Jamie finalist. He's a great actor, has the look, and if you've seen any of his roles, you know he can take on a lot of forms b/c he's strong at using eye expression to convey emotion & state. He can be really intense.. or mysterious... or confident... or coy & seductive, all the traits you want in Bond. You know what I mean if you've seen him in 'The Fall' as Paul Specter where he's a psychopath, an outstanding performance at that. For anyone who hasn't seen The Fall, here's a cut up of him that offers a good feel for the show.
Already done when they brought back Connery in the role in the totally forgettable Never Say Never Again. If they do go that route, I'd rather it be Iain Glen or Ian McElhinney than Laurie, who I do not like and can't envision being physical enough...
Agree on Jamie Bell... Good actor, but at 5-7 and 120-ish lbs, not so sure he'll be able to pack on muscle like Craig did for the role. Dorman was pretty good in "The Fall". He did himself no favors with that "50 Shades" garbage though. Terrible movie all the way around. Anyways, Clive Owen would've make a good 00, but too old now. Also, Russell Levy as well, who was also in Bourne Identity with Owen...
Sam Worthington would be a better "young Bond" than Bell. What about Vikings' lead actor Travis Fimmel? Wonder what Alexander Skarsgard's British accent sounds like........ or Neil Patrick Harris's. Paul Bettany crossed my mind as well. Mark Strong would be an interest bond. He's got a commanding presence.
Not a Sam Worthington fan, but I could see it. I don't like Fimmel at all going back to his "The Beast" days. He tends to over act IMO. Ignoring the NPH comment (dafuq?), I could see Paul Bettany possibly doing very well with the role. Good countenance and voice, a tad tall at 6-3 compared to a 5-10 Craig, but Brosnan was 6-2. Also, like Craig, Bettany has played a religious assassin previously... best hurry though, he's already 45.
Im reading Jack Huston and Damien Lewis are the favorites for the role with Tom Hiddleston trailing...
Completely ignorant of Huston, and the only thing that I know Lewis from is the rediculous comedy Your Highness, where he was an over the top villain. But I only knew Craig from Layer Cake and Tomb Raider before he was cast, and he's done great.
Layer Cake was basically an audition which proved Craig could hang. None of these other actors have a film/character that demonstrates that. Damien Lewis is probably the best choice of the bunch, as far as talent goes.
https://geektyrant.com/news/bond-25-cast-announced-and-story-details-revealed Details of all of the actors who will be in the next Bond movie, including Daniel Craig. Its surprising that so many who have been in previous ones will return. Very atypical for the series. Interesting to see how that plays out.
cant we just have Craig come back for one more and kill him. I mean come on already. Let's check out some of the other 00s. James Bond has had a good run but he's due to get clipped. Kill Bond and introduce 009.
sadly he developed a bad cocaine habit. Probably all for the good. His tag line was " powder not rock" Plus he sucked at gambling. Always lost at Baccarat. You could find him at 3 AM playing the nickel slots slipping off to the men's room every fifteen minutes or so for a little toot. Sad sad story
No Time to Die has been pushed back seven months due to the Corona Virus. Instead of premiering in about a month, it will now come out on November 12. I have to wonder if this is the start of a trend.
