yeah probably. could have seen him sticking if we could have found a trade partner for thigpen or pennington but since that doesnt appear to be happening there simply isnt any room for pat

I guess the question on Turner has been answered, he had a chance to land a spot on the team and did not step up while Moore and Wallace took advantage on the opportunity.

With Turner, I think this means they don't expect him to clear waivers. Seattle would have interest you'd think.

I like that they've kept Wallace on. They like those dimensions and he's shown them enough that they don't think they'd get him back.

Knew it, Wallace just outplayed Turner.

I do suspect Turner will land on a NFL roster though as he did not play poorly and he didn't really disprove his narrative coming out of USC.

Rams are a good landing spot maybe the Raiders.

Wallace is ahead of Moore..that is a surprise, probably due to Special Teams abilities.

Turner had plenty of time to prove himself. Wallace and Moore played with some swagger this preseason. I like this move.

Is the Curse of the USC offensive player alive and well?

Turner, and McKnight with the NYJ's has been horrible in Training Camp.

Since we're technically in Week 1, 28 or so other teams would have to pass on him first.

I don't think he makes it there, but we'll find out soon enough!

While we aren't done yet, two undrafted rookies apparently have made it at WR.

How does the waiver wire work? If a bunch of teams go after him do the team with the worst record from last year gets to pick him up?

I'm very surprised if the depth chart is accurate. I'll be happy if Pruitt makes it back to the PS.

    Darlington tweeted it.

Makes sense, they can activate Roberto on game days and expect some Special Teams contributions from him, Moore is a slot type Wr with no ST value, so unless there is an injury how is he going to play? He doesn't return kicks or cover them.

Well, they may get some picks wrong, but at least they aren't afraid of cutting ties and keeping the best player. That says a lot about our organization. Turner just couldn't run routes to save his life, and didn't contribute enough on special teams to be worth keeping.

    Exactly.

As the season rolls on, they start using this year's records.

As for the depth chart, we have to remember that preseason games are a small part of it. The coaches are grading them on every rep they take each day in practice.

You can see a difference in how they go after the ball, and fight for yards after the catch.

    Example:

Turner plays like "Whoa! I caught the ball!".

Wallace plays like "Gimme that ball you little b*tch!".

 Thats how i've interpreted what i've seen anyhow.

Moore's problem is that he is not an effective ST player, so head to head, when you are only going to carry 4 active Wr's on gameday, how can you carry Moore when we rarely run 4 Wr formations and he doesn't do Special Teams?

Another factor is losing Haynos, if we go Jumbo down inside the 5 yd line, Wallace's 6'5 frame means one more tall target for Henne.

And I'm glad to hear J Pruitt is going to the practice squad, he played well in the preseason and also has upside..thank goodness most of the GM's on crappy teams do not know how to comb practice squads for hidden diamonds.

the special teams stuff makes sense padre. good point  as for the practice squad, you can only sign them to active roster. pruitt would have to be better than other teams 5th. dont think there are too many places where thats the case

    You said it.

If you look back at it, they wanted a big man out there and failed with a few guys (notably Ernest Wilford) when they drafted Turner. Cut to 2010 and we have Brandon Marshall and now Roberto Wallace.

All things being equal, you go with the young guy. In this case, the young guy is actually a year older. But his situation is unique and he's showing you flashes.

Bro, believe me when I say, categorically, J Pruitt IS better than about 4 teams 5th Wr's..there are some squads that are just poorly managed, basically run like Wanny used to run the Dolphins.

You have 3 core Wr's the other ones are just roster filler in places like Cleveland, Oakland, Seattle, Detroit their #4 and #5 Wr's are more or less window dressing without even ST value.

I think they have made the right decision. The way Turner was used last season didnt make me think the coaching staff had much faith in him. Wallace may be an improvement and show more upside. The way the press stated that Turner would grab a spot mainly due to where we drafted him annoyed me. If Wallace shows he can be better than Turner then its a no-brainer. I want the best players on the team, not the highest picked.

Turner had an entire year to show something, and flopped. Wallace comes in and brings his game as an UDFA! I love it. I woulda been pissed had Turner made this team over him. I didnt even have to mention special teams. Im pumped!
