Darren Sharper feels he has been lowballed by the Saints and plans on beginning visits shortly.

We'll see it could happen and would be nice. He'll heal by the season's start.

Would love to have Sharper here this season.

Like it or not, if he feels like the Saints gave him a low-ball offer, you probably wouldn't want to know his thoughts on what our FO would be willing to offer him. His age alone is most likely going to keep our FO from offering anything close to what he's going to want.

He want's to play for the Jets  but Ummm he's an UFA...
Sharper plans to make some free agent visits in a week or two, when his surgically repaired knee has healed. He speculated that he might be a good fit with the Jets.
"The New York teams, there's something about the big lights and the big city that fits me, and I know I would fit there," Sharper said.

Honestly after all that's being said regarding our offers to Rolle and to Clarke; and now Sharper coming out and saying that the Saints offer wasn't enough, I would be shocked if any offer we made was anything close to what he would accept. -
Well maybe I'd welcome him a little bit if he landed in Miami. -

If he thinks he's being lowballed in N.O., wait til he gets here and we make him an offer. I doubt we pony up enough considering his injury and what was reportedly offered to to Rolle and Clark. I just don't see it happening.

I'd sign him to a one or two year deal. He can still play at a high level and we can put FS off for another year or so and draft one then or develop someone like Clemons or Culver to replace Sharper when his contract runs out.
I'd rather have Atogwe as he's younger and solidifies the position for a long time, but I can get on board with Sharper.
Brodney Pool is another guy I am interested in. He has had issues with concussions but when he's on the field he can make plays. At only 25 years old, it's a risk worth taking IMO. -
Good. With the contract the Giants handed out to Roll one would assume they are out of the bidding and if the Saints are no longer a preferred place to stay then our chances of being able to sign him are pretty decent I would imagine.
If we offer him enough money that is. I have already said it several times but IMO Sharper is the perfect 1 or 2 year rental that would allow us time and a vet presence while we groom our future FS, whether that is Culver/Clemons or someone taken in the draft.jetssuck likes this. -
sharper did exactly what he said he would do when he went to the saints
run down hill and create turnovers
my opinion is nill on a big contract
still the guy says it and does it
we all need a band aid once in a while  -
Seems like a great guy, and would be a great mentor. I think he would see Nolan's Defense as something he would love to play for. Lets hope he is intrigued by the Dolphins and schedules a visit. Then the FO better make the best impression as possible. I would love for this deal to happen.

He should
he has or is going to to hit the age barrier. -
he went to my highschool years ahead of me i wouldnt mind having him here as a stop gap mentor to clemons but i do know that we need someone back there whoever he may be

Jason Allen, Smith, Clemons & a high draft choice w/ a lot of coaching up will resolve the issue
