And of course whilst he was playing he never injested a single chemical whilst playing in the NFL. We all trust Comissioner Goodell when he says the NFL is clean because they only catch so few drug cheats. :innocent:

 

I still miss him... He was a FREAKIN' MONSTER! TBow and Gardner were the best DT tandem in the league IMHO! He was working out too much then too, hurt his back lifting...

 

I liked the player too, but not the person. If he had kept his ego and mental problems in check he wouldve been a pro bowl DT for most of his career, be it here in Miami, or in Washington or Denver. Since he didnt bother taking care of himself physically or mentally, he couldnt stay on for very long.

 

DG was a physical freak. He once reported to training camp (under JJ) at a ripped 360. Dude has the physique to be a competitive bodybuilder.

His undoing, aside from the back problems, came when Wanny became head coach. Gardener was afraid of Jimmy, and that kept him in check somewhat. He had no respect for Wanny and behaved as such.

 

He also clashed with Mike Stranahan. I think a behavioral pattern was his undoing.
