    That’s a pretty randomly placed piece of information. Did Stern not deny it because he wasn’t asked, or because he wants to set the cap low enough that the Heat would have to cancel a contract?

    Easy solution, grandfather existing max contracts into a salary cap. Done.

    Well that would work as long as the other owners agreed to it, I wouldn't if I owned a team that had to compete against them. They would have a clear advantage over every team in the league for years, no other owner could put together 3 max deals like that again so I don't see owners just basically handing titles to Miami for years.
