Dolphins waived/injured TE Davon Drew.
Coach Tony Sparano heaped glowing praise on Drew after the team got him via waivers over the weekend, but he must've reported injured. The Fins may be on the lookout for another tight end with David Martin out for 2009.

Either he failed his physical or got hurt in practice. If he clears waivers, he lands on our injured reserve. We then stash him or work out an injury settlement. Though I think Baltimore might grab him first and stash him.

Regardless, we now have a roster spot open.

Make the throwback uniforms permanent!

This link says he was dealing with a sprained ankle but doesn't specify as to when the injury occurred.

He didn't immediately pass the Ravens' conditioning test when he reported to camp

Something doesn't smell right here. That ankle has been trouble for over a month. Me thinks he reported to the Ravens with a bum ankle.

L.J. Smith (hamstring), Davon Drew (right ankle) and Brendan Ayanbadejo (toe) are three others that have been out of practice.
