http://condraft.com/profile.php?id=1466 Mississippi State Name Titus Brown 2008 Birth Date 3/27/1986 Jersey Number 54 Current Position DE Height 6 ft. 2.4 in. Weight 246 lbs. Speed 4.82 (Pro Day) Scouting Report Overview Titus Brown has been an effective pass rusher for Mississippi State. He has 30 career starts, including 23 in his junior and senior seasons. He racked up 18.5 career sacks during that time. Strengths Brown is a great pass-rusher who gets off the snap quickly and shows the explosiveness to get past the blocker. He's an intense player and plays until the whistle blows for all four quarters. He uses his hands well to disengage from the blockers. Brown is a solid tackler against the run and shows good pursuit. Brown is a decent athlete and teams may want to consider him as an OLB at the next level because of his size. He developed into a leader on the defense. Weaknesses Brown is probably too small to continue to play DE at the NFL level unless he is purely a situational player. He doesn't have the sand in the pants to stand up to the NFL offensive linemen and against the run. When tried at OLB at the Senior Bowl, he struggled mightily, but flashed some potential that may emerge with reps at the position. Projection Tweener that will have to convince a team that he has the ability to be productive as a situational pass rusher or that he can move to OLB. Should hear his name somewhere in the sixth or seventh rounds.
Overview A productive speed rusher who terrorized the SEC throughout his career, Brown lacks the size scouts want at defensive end. However, he struggled at the Senior Bowl in making the transition to outside linebacker, where he played as a freshman. Brown has the physical tools to warrant a look at OLB, but if unable to make the switch he may be forced to find a niche in the NFL as a situational pass rusher. With his quick burst off the snap and intangibles, the two-time SEC honors recipient has a chance to do just that.
